Production Technician Oxygen Transfill Lead

Owens & Minor teammate benefits include: + Medical, dental, and vision insurance, available on first working day + 401(k), eligibility after one year of service + Employee stock purchase plan + Tuition reimbursement **JOB SUMMARY** The Production Technician Transfill Lead is responsible for directing the daily activities for Transfill operations including production assignments, and the proper production aspects of filling High Pressure Medical Oxygen cylinders - Prefill Inspections, Filling, and Post Filling Processes - in a regulated environment. Key responsibility is to ensure support is provided to the Supervisor in ensuring quality, workplace health & safety and continuous improvement. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** + Oversees the shipping, receiving and distribution of oxygen cylinders. + Ensures oxygen cylinders are efficiently distributed to other branch offices within the region by organizing equipment deliveries. + Ensures oxygen cylinders are accurately and efficiently filled. + Performs quality assurance checks on all products received before stocking or distributing goods. + Hooks up empty oxygen cylinders to filling manifolds (bulk oxygen tank hookups). + Fills high-pressure oxygen cylinders with oxygen. Verifies filling requirements. + Maintains files of work performed including lot and batch number information, cylinder maintenance and inspection logs and materials required by the F.D.A. + Conducts routine and periodic inventory counts of cylinders. + Assigns, directs work, and coaches staff. + Schedules and organizes work assignments. + Ensures both group and individual productivity standards are met. + Keeps informed of and complies with federal, state, and local requirements as they apply to warehouse functions. + Maintain training certifications for Medical Gases, Hazmat and PIT Training. + Mentor/coach teammates in Lean methodology i.e., daily huddles, monitoring KPIs, leader standard work etc. + Facilitate Lean activities e.g., waste identification, root cause analysis, visual management, process improvement etc. + Share best practices with peers and teammates within the facility and support continuous improvement. + Regularly review operational performance and lead change initiatives. + Performs other duties as required.
