Job Description

The Packaging Operator is responsible for final packaging of flavors (powders, spray dry, liquids, emulsions, and extracts) according to directions on each batch ticket. This role works closely with the Batch Processors to package batches with a focus on food safety, quality, efficiency, and accuracy. The role may involve operating machinery such as mixers, spray dryers, and blending tanks. The ability to read labels and follow safety procedures is essential. The Packaging Operator is responsible for packaging the correct finished product quantity with the correct label, monitoring production, and ensuring safe and efficient operation of equipment.

ResponsibilitiesPackage final flavors (powders, spray dry, liquids, emulsions, and extracts) according to batch ticket directions.Collaborate with Batch Processors to ensure food safety, quality, efficiency, and accuracy.Operate machinery such as mixers, spray dryers, and blending tanks.Read labels and follow safety procedures.Monitor production and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.Record operational and production data on specified forms.Transfer materials, supplies, and products between work areas using equipment and sit-down forklifts.Understand the impact and importance of food safety and its role in our products.Communicate any food safety concerns to shift leads or management.Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including sanitation of equipment after each batch.Essential SkillsAbility to lift 50+ pounds6+ months of Manufacturing ExperienceAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience in ManufacturingKnowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)General labor skillsPacking and production experienceWhy Work Here?

Work Environment

This role operates in a Food GMP environment, where there is a strong smell due to the nature of the flavors company. Employees are required to wear steel toe shoes, a hair net, and no jewelry. Uniforms and lockers are provided. Lifting requirements include moving 50lb boxes for spray dry and powders, and maneuvering 25-30lb liquid containers and 55-gallon drums using a hand truck.

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00
