We are looking for a production worker to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure products are correctly stacked and prepared for shipping. This includes monitoring machinery, using packing supplies, and performing yard work such as cutting and wrapping insulation.

ResponsibilitiesWait for the machine to drop the product and ensure it lines up and stacks correctly.Stop the machine after stacking 11 high and roll the stacks down the line for shipping preparation.Use hand tape to secure the packing and wrap the packages.Operate a machine wrapper (training provided).Use zap straps for securing packages.Cut and wrap insulation as part of yard work.Return to stacking from the bottom up after wrapping packages.Potentially move to another location dealing with steel if interested.

This is a short-term contract with the potential to become permanent. If permanent, you will benefit from a union facility, wage increases, pension plan, boot allowance, and the opportunity to move up within the company. Additionally, employees receive breaks when needed due to heat, and free cold drinks are provided. Any shutdowns are scheduled over a weekend, giving you long weekends.

Work Environment

This is a large facility with 50 employees and 4 large machines that produce the product. The environment can get very hot, reaching up to 34 degrees Celsius during the summer. You will work in a team of 2 or 3, and there may be times when you need to keep busy while waiting for a machine. The dress code includes steel toe boots and masks. The work shifts are from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, rotating every 2 weeks.
