The Safeway Milk Plant located in Bellevue, Washington, has an openings for Sanitation and Production Workers: all 3 shifts for day, swing, and graveyard

 

Competitive Wages – The pay range is $24.71 to $32.95 per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage.

Starting rates will vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Additional premiums for swing and grave shifts are available. Dependent on length of service, hours worked and any applicable collective bargaining agreement, benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation pay (accrued based on hours worked), paid holidays (between 7-9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401k eligibility).

 

Sanitation Worker Main Responsibilities:

Sanitation/CIP Follow all company SSOPs. Work safely with the chemicals used in the cleaning process Ensure all chemicals are used at proper concentrations. Adheres to all company GMPs and Safety policies. Maintain/Clean all sanitation related equipment including but not limited to automatic floor scrubbers, vacuums, foamers, cleaning equipment and tools. Ability to work independently and efficiently. Attention to detail. Dispose of waste along the assembly line Mixes cleaning solutions and diluted acids as directed
Connects hoses and lines to pump and starts pump to circulate cleaning and sterilizing solution through hoses and lines. Sprays machines, tanks, floors, grounds and conveyors with water or appropriately mixed chemicals.

 

Sanitation Worker Physical requirements:

The sanitation technician is required to work in an environment that is wet Lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the day Standing or walking through the entire day Bending and stooping Scrubs and rinses with water or appropriate chemicals, floors, walls, machines, equipment, tunnels, tanks, tables, and conveyors using a variety of cleaning tools with established cleaning procedures. Reassembles cleaned equipment and machinery as directed and supply own tools as needed. Manually dump, lift, move all cleaning equipment (tubs, bins, or other containers of waste, product chemicals, etc.) as necessary or directed. Miscellaneous work such as scraping, inventory, lifting, and carrying heavy objects, assisting other personnel in a variety of cleanup activities. Use and run equipment such as COP tank and CIP Circuits. Turn equipment on/off as required for production or clean up. Other duties as assigned

As a Production Worker at our milk production facility, you will be involved in various stages of the milk processing and packaging operations. Your responsibilities will include operating machinery, monitoring production lines, performing quality checks, and ensuring that all products meet our strict standards for safety and freshness. You’ll also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to food safety regulations, and collaborating with your team to meet production goals. Your role is essential in delivering high-quality milk to consumers every day.

The position will be based in Bellevue, WA.

Production Worker Main Responsibilities:

Operate and monitor production machinery to ensure smooth processing of milk. Perform quality checks on products to ensure they meet safety and freshness standards. Assist in the pasteurization, homogenization, and packaging of milk products. Operate and maintain blow molding machines to produce high-quality plastic containers for milk packaging. Inspect blow-molded containers for defects and ensure they meet specifications. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the production area, adhering to sanitation and food safety guidelines. Follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols to ensure efficient and safe production. Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets and deadlines. Report any equipment malfunctions or production issues, including blow mold machinery, to supervisors promptly. Assist in loading and unloading raw materials and finished products as needed. Participate in routine maintenance and cleaning of production and blow molding equipment. Maintain accurate records of production activities, including blow mold operations, and report discrepancies.

What we're looking for & Physical Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a food production or manufacturing environment preferred. Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to follow recipes, measurements, and instructions accurately. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift/move heavy objects. Attention to detail and commitment to quality. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Flexibility to work in a fast-paced production environment and adapt to changing priorities. Willingness to follow safety protocols and adhere to company policies and procedures. Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime as needed. Ability to lift and push/pull up to 50 lbs.
