BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Able to work flexible hours including night and weekends with little advanced notice.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/EQUIPMENT USED
• Equipment used includes refractory saws, cranes, curing torch, computers, hand and pneumatic tools and forklifts;
• Large amounts of time spent in small spaces while performing job duties.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to read and understand digital and analog scales and gages and other measuring devices.

Howmet Aerospace is currently looking a Refractory Team Member to join our Howmet Alloy located in Dover, New Jersey. The work hours for this Afternoon Shift position are Monday - Friday 2p - 10:30p. Training on 1st shift (6a - 2:30p)
New Hire Starting Hourly Rate: $24.79; After 12 Months: $27.35
Position will receive an hourly "shift premium" while assigned to an off-shift.

JOB SUMMARY
The refractory team member is responsible for performing all phases of building, bricking, lining, ramming and repairing of all melt equipment (vacuum and air) containing refractory linings and/or equipment.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Expected to assist in the implementation of Howmet Aerospace’s EHS value and policy statement and its accompanying principles;
• Comply with all department, facility, Corporate and Regulatory EH&S regulations.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment;
• Report all job-related illness and injuries. (Per employee handbook);
• Report all Safety, Health & Environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner;
• Attend all EH&S training.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions
• Set, operate, and monitor preheat torches to insure proper operation;
• Maintain inventory of tapping blocks, furnaces, furnace and tundish materials;
• Assemble tapping blocks with prescribed filter configuration in accordance with the melt schedule;
• Work with the Melt Team and Production Planning to coordinate inventories and bricking requirements;
• May be required to assist the Melt Team on furnace changes and or spout changes;
• Knock out old refractory, and install new refractory in Vacuum coils;
• Knock out old refractory, and install new refractory in AOD vessels;
• Required to keep work area in a clean orderly condition.
