Professional Development Specialist

As a Professional Development Specialist, you will be responsible for training programs for school employees including orienting new school staff. You will track and develop training related to employee goals and school outcomes. You will report to the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and CSE Chairperson and will work onsite.

Responsibilities:

Develop and conduct a variety of employee trainings to provide professional development to meet department and school goals Develop and organize individual training for staff, as requested, to support employee growth plans in compliance with department and school outcomes Evaluate and develop training materials to implement development activities that address identified training needs following school goals and guidelines Analyze training needs and measure the effectiveness of professional development activities Organize and facilitate new team members orientation Analyze data and make recommendations for existing and proposed training needs Serve on various special and standing committees as assigned and serve as a facilitator of committees Meet with staff regarding program/training planning, methods, goals and evaluation outcomes Maintain a database of training/curricula/files and registration data to track training and prepare reports Collaborate with a variety of partners to serve as a liaison and resource in identifying staff training needs within the school Maintain a workplace free of recognized hazards

Requirements and Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or psychology required. At least 10 years of experience working with individuals with emotional disabilities or trauma backgrounds required. At least 5 years of experience in management or as a mentor required
