While our Clarion office is preferred, this position can also be based out of our Coraopolis (headquarters), Greensburg, Albion, Harmar, or Kittanning offices. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in geology and related fields, along with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities + Conduct geological mapping and survey techniques. + Apply knowledge of mining and related topics, including open-pit mining, strip mining, blasting plans, groundwater, surface water, water collection and testing, and dust sampling. + Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations, with a focus on Pennsylvania and Ohio. + Prepare and manage related submissions and permits such as NPDES, HOP, PNDI, GP 104, etc. + Understand and apply wetland delineation and mitigation processes. + Interact with related agencies such as DEP, EPA, and the Army Corps of Engineers. + Conduct fieldwork in various terrains and weather conditions. + Utilize software such as ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and hydrologic/hydraulic software for project execution. + Manage projects and maintain strong client interactions. + Plan and organize workload efficiently. + Demonstrate success working with a team of professionals. + Commit to quality, good communication skills, and a positive work ethic. Essential Skills + Bachelor’s degree in geology or a related field. + Geologist In Training (GIT) certification required; Professional Geologist (PG) in Pennsylvania preferred. + At least 5 years of relevant experience. + Proficiency in geological mapping and survey techniques. + Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations. + Experience with environmental submissions and permits. + Ability to conduct fieldwork in various terrains and weather conditions. + Experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and/or hydrologic/hydraulic software. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Professional Geologist (PG) in Pennsylvania preferred. + Understanding of wetland delineation and mitigation. + Excellent project management skills. + Strong client interaction abilities. + Commitment to quality and a positive work ethic. + Good communication skills. Work Environment This position offers a hybrid schedule with one day a week working from home. The role involves extensive fieldwork for 6-18 months, with the potential to move into a designer role upon finding your niche. You will be driving to project sites daily within a 50-mile radius of Pittsburgh, using your own vehicle with mileage reimbursements provided.
