Job Description

Oakwood Academy Soccer Club is seeking a dedicated and skilled coach to develop and manage 3 teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering the growth of players in alignment with Oakwood Academy's playing philosophy and ensuring their progression through the academy's ranks.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management

- Develop Annual Performance Plans: Collaborate with the Academy Director to create and evolve Annual Performance Plans for both teams, encompassing technical, tactical, and physical periodization.

- Training and Match Preparation: Plan and prepare for all training sessions and matches for both teams.

- Team Selection: Select the teams for each game in consultation with the Academy Director to ensure alignment.

- Communication: Ensure all players are informed of training session details, match schedules, and general program information. Maintain adherence to the Club Player Code of Conduct.

- Player Retention and Release: Participate in discussions with the Scouting Department and Academy Director regarding player retention or release decisions.

Player Management

- Individual Development Plans: Create and implement Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for all players on all teams.

- Progress Reports and Meetings: Complete progress reports for all players and schedule individual meetings with players and their parents three times per year to review IDPs and set future expectations.

Administrative/Reporting

- Pre-Game Objectives Presentation: Create pre-game objectives presentations prior to every game and post on Teamworks for Academy Director to access.

- Post-Game Reports: Complete post-game reports after every game, including video clips focusing on team and player performances, and post on Teamworks for Academy Director to access.

- Meetings: Participate in weekly Academy Administrative & Operational Meetings.

- Communication: Communicate with the Academy Director regarding any important information about their work (e.g., late arrivals, player information).

Coordination and Support

- Assist with (other Duties): Camps and any other roles that involve the league.

- Liaison with Other Coaches: Liaise with the other Academy Head Coaches regarding player movement for high-performing players to ensure opportunities for accelerated development.

- Individual Development Program: Work with top prospects in the Individual Development Program at least once per week.

- Reporting: Report to the Academy Director on a monthly basis about the progress of top prospects and provide a summary of overall team performance in relation to the playing philosophy.

Strategic Development

- Recruitment Collaboration: Work alongside the Recruitment team to review and report on the performances of potential targets for consideration for the Academy.

- Best Practices: Ensure consistent philosophies in keeping with examples of best practice within the NSG Group.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of a USSF "D" Coaching License or equivalent.

- Proven experience in coaching youth soccer at a high level, preferably within an academy structure.

- Strong understanding of player development principles and Oakwood Academy's playing philosophy.

- Excellent communication and organizational skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
