The Division Chief for the Division of Internal Medicine, delivers medical care to patients in an ambulatory or hospital setting. May be involved in clinical rating of medical students and residents.
Responsibilities
Provide Administrative leadership and oversight for the direction of growth of the Divison of Internal Medicine
Collaborate with peers, faculty and support staff
Participate in academic/clinical/research activities as needed
Participate in administrative, department policy and procedure development
Participate in clinical based research projects as needed
Participate in committees as assigned
Supervise staff under faculty supervision
Provide medical care to patients in office/hospital settings/
Collaborate with Nursing, office staff, administration in patient care
Participate in education evaluation and career development of student, residents, fellows and staff.
Qualifications
M.D. required
Unrestricted license to provide medical care in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Fifteen (15) to twenty (20) years of supervisor experience.
Progressively more responsible positions in an academic setting.
