The Jack C. Massey College of Business at Belmont University is seeking applications from distinguished professionals whose expertise and experience qualifies them for a joint appointment as a non-tenure track faculty member at the rank of Professor of Practice and Director of the Edward C. Kennedy Center for Business Ethics beginning August 1, 2024.
As a Professor of Practice, job responsibilities include developing and teaching undergraduate business ethics courses, mentoring students, participating in committee service, participating in college and university meetings, and collaborating in areas directly related to ethics; teaching experience strongly preferred.
The Edward C. Kennedy Center for Business Ethics seeks to bring people together in the discussion of business ethics, help empower business leaders to face the current crisis in business ethics and educate ethical business leaders for a better society. The Center’s focus is to develop practical approaches to enable people to deal successfully with the tough ethical issues and decisions they face in the workplace. A major goal of the Center is to develop ethical leadership which will strengthen organizations as they seek to build and nurture ethical cultures.
The Director shall be responsible to communicate the Center’s mission to internal and external stakeholders; plan and execute Center programming; engage with external constituencies to raise Center visibility; recruit and manage the Center’s advisory board; manage Center operations and budget; and foster Center student extracurricular activities.
Joint Job responsibilities include:
Develop and teach 2-3 Business Ethics courses each semester.Serve as a student mentor.Participate in University and College meetings.Serve on University and College committees.Serve as strategic leader to plan, execute, and communicate Center speaker series programming. Increase Center programming visibility. Communicate and advance the missions of the Center and the Jack C. Massey College of Business of cultivating impactful leaders who are recognized for their business expertise and moral clarity. Manage the Edward C. Kennedy Center for Business Ethics advisory board. Recruit, maintain, and collaborate with community and university partners. Foster student extracurricular activities including the annual Stetson Business Ethics Case Competition, Student Center for Public Trust, and the Harry N. Hollis Student of Integrity Essay Contest.Maintain Center database and engagement opportunities including recruitment of new members.Manage Center operations and staff. Ensure fiscal responsibility by monitoring funds allocated to operations. Identify and implement new Center initiatives.Perform other job-related tasks as needed.Review of applications will begin May 2024 and continue
