Program Aide 

 

EAC Network, a not-for-profit social service agency that empowers, assists, and cares for 62,888 people in need through 100 programs across Long Island and NYC, seeks a Program Aide to work full time for its Suffolk County Children's Center.

The Program Aide position is a non-exempt position paying $17-19 per hour at 35 hours per week. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9:00AM-5:00PM and the office is located in Central Islip, NY. The role reports to the Program Supervisor..

Primary Purpose of Job:

The Program Aide is responsible for monitoring children dropped off by parents needing to attend to court business. Program aide closely supervises children 6 weeks to 12 years to ensure that the center is a safe, secure, and loving environment for them

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Engage children's interest Help volunteers with the needs of the children. Reports to the Supervisor. Follows all safety regulations.

 

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required:

High School Diploma or educational equivalent required, Associate's Degree preferred. Able to lift small children and toddlers up to 50 pounds. Minimum of two years of relevant work experience preferred Must have the ability to handle volatile emergency situations, and possess excellent interpersonal skills. Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments.
