The Program Aide position is a non-exempt position paying $17-19 per hour at 35 hours per week. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9:00AM-5:00PM and the office is located in Central Islip, NY. Primary Purpose of Job: The Program Aide is responsible for providing direct supervision and care to children, ages 6 weeks to 12 years, whose parents or guardians are attending to court-related matters. The Program Aide ensures that the Children’s Center maintains a safe, secure, and nurturing environment that promotes the well-being of every child. Principal Duties & Responsibilities: + Actively engage children in age-appropriate activities to foster interest and development. + Assist volunteers in meeting the needs of the children and provide guidance as needed. + Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain a secure environment. + Provide diaper changes and assist with basic hygiene needs as necessary. + Report to the Supervisor and communicate effectively to support smooth daily operations. Knowledge, skills And Abilities Required: + High School Diploma or educational equivalent required. + Ability to lift children and toddlers up to 50 pounds as needed. + Prior work experience in childcare or a related field preferred. + Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage emergency situations calmly and effectively.
