Job Title Program Assistant (Outreach & Precollege Prgms) Agency Texas A&M International University Department Outreach and PreCollege Programs Proposed Minimum Salary $16.00 hourly Job Location Laredo, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description Job Summary The Program Assistant, under general supervision, provides standard program support. Essential Duties and Responsibilities + Assists in the coordination of assigned program. + Assists with committee meetings and materials. + Tracks and monitors program budget. + Researches and recommends changes to existing programs. + Assists with proposal development. + Purchases program materials. + Prepares program correspondence. + Assists in coordinating logistics and travel for program seminars, workshops, orientations and other special events. + Creates, establishes and maintains program files, databases, correspondence and program materials. + Serves a first point of contact for program information and coordinates responses to requests for program information. Additional Responsibilities + Provide support to the Outreach and Pre-College Programs grants, grant development, and aid in the development of the Work Study employees. + Coordinate and manage the scheduling of middle school and elementary school visits, campus tours and presentations. (On and off campus) + Responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of Pre-College Program Initiatives including parent, counselor and student workshops. + Manage student data, including but not limited to developing periodic reports and data analytics of programs such as TexPREP, Loaner Laptop, and Closer than ever. + Support the review, design, editing, publication and marketing of Outreach and Pre-College Programs Initiatives and website. + Manage social media platforms. + Assist in Loaner Laptop Program distribution and inventory. + Attend Community Outreach initiatives including Career Days, College Financial Literacy, College Days, Parades, Trunk or Treat, presentations. + Assist with student program coordination such as TexPREP and other summer enrichment programs. + Assist and coordinate special University events including the Mariachi Festival and Discover TAMIU. Minimum Requirements + Education – Bachelor’s degree. + Experience – No experience required. Preferred Education and Experience + Previous related higher education or State agency experience. + Bilingual – Spanish/English. Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of: + Word processing and spreadsheet applications. Ability to: + Multitask and work cooperatively with others. + Verbal and written communication skills.
