**The Basic Needs Collective ( BNC )** is a service area of Student Affairs as part of The Office of the Dean of Students. We support student well-being and success. As a coordinated resource referral hub, we educate and connect students to campus and community resources to help them meet their basic needs.
**JOB SUMMARY :**
Under the supervision of the Basic Needs Collective Program Manager, the Program Coordinator performs a wide range of administrative, programmatic, and technical duties that support the basic needs service area. Examples include coordinating basic needs services and providing student resources through intake, assessment, and referral assistance. The basic needs coordinator performs a full range of program and clerical assistance to support the basic needs service area. This includes building sustainable relationships with campus and community partners to obtain resources for students and promoting student success, retention, and degree completion by helping to remove barriers to their education. The duties listed below are intended as examples of the various types of work that may be performed. **Responsibilities**
+ Greet visitors and communicate with students, faculty, staff, and other individuals to answer questions and disseminate or explain information.
+ Assist with program planning and implementation by organizing and coordinating activities and services within the BNC .
+ Perform a full range of technical, program, and clerical duties to support the basic needs service area.
+ Coordinate with various departments and program areas to ensure activities and operations fulfill basic needs program requirements.
+ Assist in planning, organizing, scheduling, and conducting orientations, workshops, seminars, class presentations, and other outreach efforts and activities related to the BNC .
+ Organize joint events and participate in planning and implementation meetings with various departments and programs.
+ Oversee BNC digital media platforms and create new content aligned with the university and service area vision, brand, and existing policies.
+ Prepare special and periodic reports, including fiscal reports, program plans, progress reports, and other narrative and statistical reports based on utilization of BNC services and offerings.
+ Assist in maintaining program records, including student records; supports the development of systems and procedures to ensure the appropriate maintenance of complex, interrelated files containing confidential student information.
+ Research new resources and maintain the campus and community resources database.
+ Attend professional group meetings and workshops to stay up-to-date on new trends and maintain a working knowledge of information related to the service area.
+ Make appropriate referrals to case managers in the Office of the Dean of Students to address any university policy needs, exceptions, or navigation of university procedures.
+ Participate in training new staff, student workers, and volunteers.
+ Supervise assigned student workers and volunteers.
+ Participate in the collaboration and coordination of university-wide food pantry efforts.
+ Oversee and coordinates the Eccles Health Sciences Education Building student food pantry; including the staffing of volunteers and student workers to order, receive, stock items, and maintain food quality controls.
+ Perform other duties as required.

**Minimum Qualifications**
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalency) in a related field plus one year directly related experience or equivalency. Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to program content. Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.
**EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT : 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience. (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience.)**
