Program Coordinator, Surgical Robotics - Operating Room, Full Time

Job Summary:
The Surgical Robot Program Coordinator is responsible for the effective management and coordination of the robotic surgery program within Mary Washington Health System. This role encompasses administrative, clinical, and technical responsibilities to ensure the optimal utilization of robotic surgical systems and support for surgical teams.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities: 

Oversight and communication of the robotic surgery schedule- in collaboration with OR leadership, ensuring optimal block utilization and resolving discrepancies.Maintain inventory for robotic instrument accessories, orders, and coordinate maintenance for ancillary equipment related to robotic surgery in collaboration with team members.Maintain and update operating room and hospital guidelines and protocols concerning robotic surgery.Conduct regular meetings with the service line, Chair of the Robotics Program, Director of Perioperative Services, OR Management, and Business Managers to provide updates on the robotics program and ongoing initiatives.Co-facilitate agenda for monthly Robotic Steering Committee meetings, prepare perioperative report out.Provide troubleshooting support for da Vinci systems during robotic procedures.Facilitate onboarding and support for new surgeons and perioperative staff entering the robotic surgery program.Implement Robotic-Assisted Clinical Privileging Guidelines to assist in the credentialing and re-credentialing of surgeons.Monitor system and instrument utilization through the da Vinci Surgery Online community website.Conduct in-service training and annual refresher training for all perioperative staff on pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative management of the da Vinci systems.Create and maintain a quarterly Robotics Program Newsletter to communicate updates and initiatives.Serve as the primary point of contact for any da Vinci-related inquiries or concerns, both clinical and system-related.Act as a liaison between hospital administration, clinical healthcare professionals, and Intuitive Surgical Inc.Demonstrate da Vinci Surgical systems to surgeons and visiting groups as needed.Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Degree from an accredited nursing program or Certified Surgical Assistant Program, required.Licensed Registered Nurse or Licensed Surgical First Assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia required.American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a robotic surgery setting, is required.Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in data analysis and the use of electronic health record systems.Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
