The Rutgers Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies is one of the nation’s leading tobacco focused research centers and its faculty have received over $50 million in extramural funding over the past two decades. The Institute’s efforts are focused on their mission of reducing and ultimately eliminating, tobacco-related morbidity and mortality.
Five Centers or Programs currently operate at the Institute including a Tobacco Center for Regulatory Science, the Center of Excellence for Rapid Surveillance of Tobacco, the Tobacco Dependence Program, a Tobacco Industry Marketing Program, and a Tobacco Control Law & Policy Resource Center. Posting Summary Rutgers is seeking a Program Coordinator for the Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies, located in New Brunswick, NJ. Under the direction of the Chief of Staff for the Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies, this position will provide high level administrative and programmatic support, which meets high quality standards, taking a leadership role in program oversight, planning and development, and assuring progress toward deliverables including DEI activities and support to CRST grant.
Duties include: Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Institute’s DEI initiatives under the direction of the Chief of Staff for INTS, which includes but is not limited to: Assists with the creation and coordination of communication and distribution of DEI resources. Creation of presentation and training materials to support DEI efforts. Coordinates administrative needs for the DEI program, including meeting setup, material prep, communication reminders, vendors, and employee activities. Organizes and oversees the coordination of DEI events, training, workshops, seminars, and symposiums. Development and implementation of strategies for engagement in DEI. Supports development, reporting, and metrics forecast for DEI programs and activities. Manages and responds to internal inquiries about DEI initiatives and activities. Under the direction of the principal investigator, coordinates the Center for Rapid Surveillance of Tobacco (CRST) day to day financial and project administration, which includes but is not limited to: Facilitating annual external vendor contracts, and including monitoring purchase orders and invoices for external vendors (subawards, consultants and data products) Implements and monitors quality control mechanisms for project budget activity, including tracking of timely invoicing from subawards Assists in the preparation of annual CRST budgets Internal and external documentation collection, distribution, and preparation Coordinates research team presentations Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) Coordinates administrative needs CRST program, including meeting setup, material prep, communication reminders, participation in monthly project meetings Coordinates the annual scientific retreat/meeting
