The position works collaboratively with the Secretary and Executive team, Board committee leadership, and business units across NCDOT to ensure communication and understanding is aligned. Additionally, the position assists the Director with strategy planning sessions, collaborating with committee leadership to develop a long-range schedule of topics for the upcoming calendar year of Board meetings. The position also serves as the Governance Standard Operating Procedure (GSOP) coordinator working independently and collaboratively with the Director of Governance and team to oversee the implementation and maintenance of the GSOP framework which provides a clear structure regarding the essential duties, activities, and responsibilities of each role within the Governance office; outlining the position profiles (roles, responsibilities, and duties) and documenting/cataloging the protocols (work tasks) of each staff member to provide role continuity and ensure that the owner of a certain set of tasks is clear to anyone within the Department. The position also performs a variety of support tasks that require proficiency in using various software applications and programs such as SAP, Visio, Microsoft Teams, DocuSign, GoToMeeting, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access), Sigma XL, Outlook, and the Internet. General duties consist of applying effective program analyst techniques, interpreting policies, and implementing best practices; communicating clearly and effectively in oral and written form to a variety of audiences; meeting facilitation and preparation of reports; facilitating training logistics and performing other general administrative/office duties as assigned.
