Posting Summary Rutgers University-Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise is seeking a Program Coordinator I for the Geophysics for Environmental Management Students (GEMS) project in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, School of Arts and Sciences-Newark (SASN). Reporting to the Principal Investigator, this Program Coordinator I is responsible for the administration and coordination of the GEMS project.

This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:

Coordinating day-to-day operations for the project. Coordinating all aspects of the project including GEMS programming, curriculum development, events and meetings, and coordination of and with participants, and related programs and academic and government partners. Providing operational support to project leadership, participating in project decisions, program development and implementation, and evaluation. Maintaining and supporting the use of department geophysical instrumentation. Conducting research in near surface geophysics in collaboration with GEMS participants, under the direction of the PI and co-PI. Planning and organizing annual project meetings and other events. Collecting, maintaining, and providing program information/drafts for funder reports. Establishing and maintaining effective relationships within Rutgers and with academic partners and collaborating laboratories. Position Status Full Time Hours Per Week Daily Work Shift Work Arrangement Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 or the applicable provisions of relevant collective negotiations agreements, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or discontinuation, and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System.
