The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, a strong commitment to student success, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Program Coordination: + Coordinates all aspects of the National Fellowships Program including recruitment and selection processes for internal and external awards + Coordinates campus nomination processes for core scholarships (Rhodes, Marshall, Mitchell, Churchill, Truman, Goldwater, Boren, Fulbright, Gaither, Udall, Freeman-ASIA, and Astronaut) as well as non-core awards that feed into these competitions + Coordinates program assessment and evaluation, supports maintenance of program databases + Coordinates logistics and travel for program seminars, workshops, orientations, and other special events + Purchases program materials + Prepares program reports for students, prospective students, TAMU, and the community + Researches and recommends changes to existing programs Administrative: + Serves as first point of contact for program information and coordinates responses to requests for program information + Supports maintenance of office databases and prepares program correspondence + Tracks and monitors program budget + Coordinates with committee meetings and materials Student Advising + Maintains office hours to advise students on National Fellowships opportunities What You Need to Know + Salary Range: $45,000.00 - $46,924.80 based on experience + Cover Letter & Resume: A cover letter and resume are strongly recommended Qualifications Required Education and Experience: + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience + Two years’ experience in related field + Experience providing essay review and constructive feedback + Experience in social media management Preferred Qualifications + Master’s degree + Some experience in office administration, database management, and report analysis + Experience with high-achieving students as well as underserved student populations + Experience providing essay review and constructive feedback + Demonstrated ability to be flexible in a changing environment while exercising initiative to accomplish tasks + Experience managing awards and handling selection processes, including recruitment + Ability to interact professionally with students, parents, and all levels of university staff regarding student issues especially regarding deadlines, emergencies, and delicate situations + Familiarity with national fellowships Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities + Experience working with students to improve essays, resumes, and other pieces of writing Who We Are The National Fellowships Program provides students with the opportunity to reflect on their accomplishments and goals, synthesize their thoughts into a coherent whole, and achieve national recognition with access to unparalleled opportunities around the world.
