Who we want
The Office for Student Success Learning Communities team is seeking a Program Coordinator who will plan, organize, direct, and manage the day-to-day activities associated with the GTF and Century Scholars learning communities at Texas A&M. This individual will be responsible for providing significant oversight to the first year and second year courses associated with these learning communities, creating syllabi, weekly lesson plans, course assignments, and Canvas classrooms for each section of these courses. This individual will also contribute to the overall agenda of the Learning Communities by collaborating with other LC staff members for the coordination of their student programming and assisting in the planning of events and leadership development opportunities open to all LC students as needed.
Responsibilities
Program Coordination:
+ Leads preparation for Learning Communities meetings, workshops, retreats, resource tables, advising sessions, and other special events. This includes making room reservations, scheduling catering services, setting up for events, and preparing any accompanying materials
+ Creates learning materials, lesson plans, syllabi, and other content as necessary for the Century Scholars second-year experience course
+ Provides support to GTF, First-Year Eats, and Century Scholars first-year programs as needed
+ Develops and refines comprehensive training programs for peer mentors
+ Collects and utilizes student feedback to improve quality of programming
+ Maintains program databases, contact and subscriber lists, and other spreadsheets
Student Mentoring:
+ Monitors deadlines and requirements students must meet in order to progress their degrees and meet scholarship requirements
+ Prepares peer mentors for seminar presentations, program events, and student one-on-ones
+ Holds regular advising meetings with students
Customer, Student, and Mentor Relations:
+ Serves as primary point of contact for Learning Communities program information and responds to requests for program information, including answering phone calls and faxes, maintaining specific program email inboxes, occasionally giving presentations to student groups and departments, and generally being available for scheduled program activities
+ Maintains specific program materials for availability on the Learning Communities website and coordinates the production of promotional materials and news releases
Logistics:
+ Monitors student worker, peer mentor and graduate assistant tasks and activities.
+ Prepares expense reports and travel arrangements
+ Coordinates record keeping, assessment and reporting efforts
+ Researches and implements changes to existing programs
What you need to know
Salary Range: $45,000 - $51,000 “Commensurate based on selected hire’s qualifications”

Schedule: Must be able to work occasional weekend hours and periodic early evening hours
Required Education and Experience
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ 2 years of related program coordination experience
Preferred Qualifications
+ Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
+ Experience with program and event coordination, particularly for learning community programs
+ Experience working with first generation, low income, and/or under-represented college students
+ Experience in office administration or project management
+ Community building experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Organizational planning and problem solving
+ Ability to interact positively and professionally with students and staff
+ Ability to cultivate a positive supervisory relationship with student workers, peer mentors, and junior staff members
+ Excellent oral and written communication and time management skills
+ Demonstrated ability to be flexible in a changing, collaborative team environment while exercising initiative to accomplish tasks
+ Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs
