Program Coordinator I- Center for Multicultural and Community Affairs
**Job Description** The Patricia S. Levinson Center for Multicultural and Community Affairs (CMCA) is one of three units of the Mount Sinai Health System’s Office for Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) where we work collectively to advance diversity and inclusion across New York State’s largest academic hospital system. The broad focus of ODI is to champion a diverse workforce, strive to create a multicultural environment, and foster an inclusive setting to ensure delivery of high-level care to the diverse patient populations in New York City and beyond. At ISMMS, CMCA has evolved into becoming the School’s longstanding diversity center. CMCA is a driving force that cultivates, integrates, and advances the principles of diversity and inclusion in ISMMS systems, structures, policies, practices, and mindsets among our students, trainees, faculty, and staff. Our mission is to eliminate health disparities through a nationally recognized center. CMCA’s structure uses innovative, integrative, and coordinated approaches to patient care, education, and research in community settings. We strive to improve the health of all populations by diversifying the clinical workforce, conducting research, and influencing health policy at all levels. The position will be based in the CMCA Unit of ODI and report directly to the CMCA Director of Special Programs. The position will be responsible for managing and coordinating data systems, application processes, evaluation and tracking protocols, and programmatic activities related to CMCA’s pathway programs for pre-med students, medical students underrepresented in medicine, and a portion of ODI’s education and training portfolio focused on unconscious bias. In addition to program coordination support, the position will primarily be responsible for managing and coordinating a shared data systems and jointly sponsored pathway programs. **Qualifications** + Bachelor's Degree at minimum; Masters preferred + 3 years relevant work experience; preferably in nonprofit with an education or program development focus + Experience with data management and competence in computer applications related to qualitative and quantitative data entry and descriptive analysis + Strong computer literacy & experience working with Google Suite and other communication systems (Slack, Slido, Canva etc.) and social media platforms + Must be proficient in Microsoft office suite + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Excellent organizational and follow up skills with keen attention to details. + Ability to meet time sensitive deadlines. + Ability to adapt to a changing environment. + Strong innovation and/or networking skills. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Highly motivated with the ability to work independently. + If selected, a commitment to serve in this capacity for minimum of 3 years **Additional Qualifications:** + Bilingual in Spanish a plus + Demonstrated awareness and understanding for diversity, equity, and inclusion + Consistently maintains a positive attitude and builds strong working relationships + Detail-oriented with superb organizational skills + Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively + Personal qualities of warmth, dependability, responsiveness, initiative, flexibility, knowledge, and credibility Non-Bargaining Unit, 840 - Center for Multicultural Affairs - ISM, Icahn School of Medicine **Responsibilities** + Manage data and measurement systems of programs such as but not limited to Northeast Regional Alliance (NERA) MedPrep Programs, Visiting Electives Programs for Students Underserved in Medicine (VEPSUM) Fellowship, Unconscious Bias (UB) Programs + Prepare and contribute to operational reviews, reports, presentations, and other related products reflecting program outcomes and impact. + Be proficient with the institution’s central finance system, policies and procedures to properly process financial transactions. + Assist with fiscal management duties including budget preparation, reconciliation, and reporting for grants and contracts. + Collect, document, track program data and metrics associated with program deliverables, outcomes, and reporting requirements. + Conducts research on issues and programs related to diversity in academic medicine in order to strengthen knowledge base and enhance capability to address diversity and inclusion challenges throughout the organization. + Create schedules, end-of-term calendars for final assessments, oral presentations and final papers, order supplies and arrange space for all programs. + Coordinate logistical planning for special events and programs. + Support the CMCA Director of Special Programs to maintain school and organizational partners engagement activities by developing and tracking Memorandums of Agreements, recruitment and enrichment activities, and manage collection of student documentation. + Establishes and develops relationships with staff across all job levels of the organization to foster cross-functional approaches to problem solving and program development. + Oversee social media strategy and assess online engagement and impact. + Perform other administrative duties including: triage phone calls; maintain student files; prepare and send out student correspondence, flyers, and application packets + Willingness to be trained on new institutional systems (formal supervision and training will be provided). + Attend occasional student and staff conferences, which may include travel. + Perform other tasks as assigned. **About Us** **Strength Through Diversity** The Mount Sinai Health System believes that diversity, equity, and inclusion are key drivers for excellence. The salary range for the role is $64526.72 - $73500 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
