Function of Position:
This position serves as a key member of Student Life and Leadership Development. This position has responsibilities as advisor to the Campus Activities Board, and liaison to clubs and organizations. This position will develop and support performing and creative arts events, media organizations, and cultural clubs and organizations. This position reports to the Director of Student Life and Leadership Development and may require some evening and weekend hours.
Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:
Primary Functions:
+ Advise and support student media organizations (newspaper, radio station, literary magazine), serve as advisor to the student newspaper, and manage the department's relationship with the Student Press Law Center.
+ Act as the department contact for cultural clubs and the Campus Activities Board.
+ Serve as point of contact for music licensing organizations that MCC uses to hold on-campus concerts and webcasting.
+ Collaborate with the Creative Arts and Performing Arts Committee on event planning, budgets, and scheduling, and develop diversity, equity, and inclusion events with the Global Union and the Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity department.
+ Help manage and recruit for the leadership program.
+ Use educational tools to engage and support underrepresented students.
+ Manage department marketing (social media, virtual engagement, website updates) and collaborate with the College's web team.
+ Assist with budget preparation, program assessments, promotional campaigns, and event contracts (speakers, artists, etc.).
+ Help organize workshops and programs that foster student engagement and retention on the Brighton and Downtown campuses.
+ Contribute to department strategies and budgeting efforts and support college-wide retention initiatives.
Secondary Functions:
+ Participate in College-wide committees, as appropriate or requested.
+ Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Director.

Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
+ Earned Master's degree in higher education or related field from a regionally accredited higher education institution.
+ One (1) year of experience in an educational setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Earned Master's degree in higher education in Student Development or Student Services from a regionally accredited higher education institution.
+ One (1) year of experience in a higher educational setting.
+ Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently.
Additional Information:
Salary: Salary is determined based on experience, internal equity and college budget. This position has a range of $52,000 to $56,409 and is based on these mentioned factors.
