Recently, Rutgers–Camden earned Carnegie classification as an R2 research university due to a high volume of internationally recognized research, creative output, and scholarly activity.  Posting Summary Rutgers University-Camden is seeking a Program Coordinator II-Food Pantry Assistant in the department of Student Wellness. The Program Coordinator II-Food Pantry Assistant, reporting to the Department Administrator, plays a vital role in the daily operations of the Rutgers University-Camden food pantry. This position is responsible for maintaining pantry standards and guidelines, managing inventory, and ensuring smooth functioning of pantry services. The Program Coordinator II will assist in all aspects of the Raptor’s Nest operations, including food distribution, inventory tracking, and coordinating deliveries. They will provide supervision and support to pantry staff, volunteers, and student workers, ensuring proper communication and organization within the pantry space.
Procurement and management are key aspects of this role, involving attendance at certification classes, managing food orders from suppliers, and regular shopping for pantry supplies. The Program Coordinator II will work closely with volunteers to ensure tasks are executed efficiently and that customer service standards are met. Team-building strategies and morale maintenance among pantry staff are also part of the responsibilities. Additionally, the Program Coordinator II will manage client data, provide reports to the Administrator, and participate in meetings and training sessions. Collaborative initiatives are essential, requiring the Program Coordinator II to organize team members for pickups and manage donated items effectively. They will support departmental initiatives, special events, and provide information about social services to clients as needed. The Program Coordinator II must exercise discretion in budget management for pantry purchases, ensuring efficient use of resources.
