Program Coordinator - Podiatry
POSITION STANDARDS Associates degree in a health or business related field or the equivalent in education and experience required. Two (2) years of experience with project management or ambulatory clinic systems & processes required. Proven success in positions employing project management skills essential. Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience in the concepts and applications of quality improvement and systems thinking required. Ability to adapt to changes that arise during project implementation and daily surgical workflows. Must possess a high level of computer literacy and demonstrated knowledge and expertise in using tools such as the Microsoft suite of products. LNA or other clinical license preferred POSITION PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Anything listed here requires a pre-employment physical by Employee Health to determine if the employee is capable of meeting the requirements. Position Objective

Performs highly independent and diversified operational and administrative duties supporting the implementation and maintenance of systems within the General Surgery and Podiatry Clinics. Coordinates broadly with the DHH system clinic partners and support teams, staff and patients to improve operational efficiencies and exceed patient expectations.  Serves as an effective change agent and workflow expert using high-level problem-solving skills and critical thinking to ensure operational success.

 

Performance Expectation

Serves as the primary point of contact for assigned ambulatory clinic; creates effective relationships with internal and external customers and colleagues. Coordinates with leadership on implementation decisions and communicates them out to managers and staff appropriately. Works to initiate change and manage project improvement strategies. Ensures milestones and deadlines are met. Develops and executes improvement plans, tracking metrics and deliverables. Areas of responsibility include claim denials, ABNs, authorization issues and subsequent medical necessity documentation requirements. Coordinates schedules and activities for assigned ambulatory clinic, includes master scheduling and provider coordination. Identifies potential risk factors and takes appropriate action to mitigate or prevent. Acts as a resource for departmental issues, making proposals and recommendations for resolution. Effectively utilizes tools and resources to obtain answers to questions or to problem solve. Screens and assesses operational functionality of the program to ensure it is meeting the requirements of the clinical operations. Provides individual and group support to ambulatory team members as necessary. Develops and implements scheduling and referral procedures for assigned ambulatory clinic programs in conjunction with the administrative manager. Supports and coordinates a wide scope of concurrent projects throughout the D-H system by utilizing and modeling effective project management tools. Provides administrative support to the department to coordinate and facilitate departmental operations. Performs other tasks as required or assigned. Provides clinical coverage when needed pursuant to the license held.
