Description and Responsibilities
Safe Homes LGBTQIA+ Drop-in center for youth and young adults is looking for a new full-time Program Coordinator. Safe Homes uses a peer lead, adult-advised, youth development model to create a safe space for LGBTQIA+ youth and allies. The Program Coordinator will provide direct support and oversight to the Safe Homes virtual drop-in center and supervise the staff, volunteers, and peer leaders.
The Program Coordinator will participate in community events and represent Safe Homes and Open Sky at meetings and committees. They will also help to develop and implement community training and facilitate outreach opportunities.
Manage and implement the Safe Homes Worcester program operations.Participate in the development and implementation of program goals, objectives, and tasks that are directed toward accomplishing the Mission and Vision of the Safe Homes Worcester Program as well as developing policies.Assist the Safe Homes Operations Director in creating budgeting goals, collecting accurate grant reporting data and supporting fundraising initiatives. Provide regular employee and volunteer supervision, performance appraisal and provide professional development opportunities. Ensure optimum coverage through the development and monitoring of the schedule ensuring that enrolled individuals' needs are understood and met.Develop and implement community-based trainings for outreach initiatives. Helping with the recruitment and marketing efforts of the Safe Homes program. Qualifications High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, required.Two years' experience in working with LGBTQIA+ youth and their families, including knowledge of the unique developmental needs of this population.Two years demonstrated leadership experience, including experience with direct supervision.Valid driver's license and reliable automobile required.
