Smith + Nephew’s Advanced Wound Management (AWM) is on a journey to design and develop new innovative digital products that shape and redefine what is possible in Wound Care.

We are looking for a passionate Program Director who will also help us build Agile Product Development capabilities.

The Program Director is a servant leader to the cross-functional team.

The successful candidate will work with a globally distributed, cross-functional team to deliver new product solutions, leveraging wearable sensor technology and Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) cloud applications, to prevent Hospital-Acquired Pressure Injuries (HAPI).

The Program Leader facilitates teamwork and mobilizes people to deliver on agreed-upon targets. This leader is further expected to play an active role in Agile Transformation efforts and help build a high-performance product development operation.

Lead internal and external teams to deliver results per customer requirementsGuide teams in decomposing complex work and organize around cadence-based deliveryHelp build and maintain Agile Product BacklogsPrioritize backlogs in collaboration with R&D and Product ManagementDeploy metric based progress tracking, on an iteration- and quarterly basisEstablish solid communication to global stakeholders with a maximum of transparency and clarity

Location: This role is based in Andover, MA with flexibility to work from home Mondays and Fridays.

What will you need to be successful?

Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline required, Masters preferredCurrent Project Management Certification required: Agile and Waterfall (PMI, SAFe, CSPO, etc.)8+ years product development and project management experience, including SaMD, and Cloud-based SoftwareAuthoritative knowledge in SAFe, SCRUM or related Agile frameworks and methodologiesOutstanding communication, facilitation, and coaching skillsUnderstanding of, or willingness to learn, the application of ISO 13485 and FDA QS Regulation 21 CFR Part 820Servant Leader – Must be able to garner respect from the teams and be willing to get their hands dirty to get the job doneMust be able to lead and demonstrate value-add principles to the teamMust be the catalyst for the teams and is expected to lead the transformation to a fail-fast-learn-fast cultureAttitude of empowerment – Must be able to lead a team to self-organizationUnderstand incremental delivery and the value of metrics
