Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector (NGAS) Air Dominance Division, is seeking a Director (D1) of Commercial Aircraft and Engine Structures Programs within the Aerostructures Operating Unit (OU). This program director position will have direct profit and loss (P&L) responsibility for a portfolio of programs and products supporting Prime Contracting customers external to NG.  The position will also be responsible for partnering closely with Business Development to capture follow-on and new business opportunities aligned with the company’s strategy.

The Director will directly supervise all Program Managers within the Commercial Aircraft and Engine Structures business lane and leads customer interface with senior leaders within Northrop Grumman and other Prime Contractors.

The position will be based in Clearfield, Utah.

Role Description and Responsibilities:

Excellent leadership skills aligned with the company’s values; integral part of Aerostructures Operating Unit (OU) leadership team participating with a seat at the table, candor, respect and alignment to NGC goals and values.Demonstrates and drives the importance of a strong culture of accountability, excellence, employee engagement, and belonging.Leads business lane and program strategy development that integrates with the overall business and strategies of NGAS and the OU and establishes goals and plans to meet that strategy. This includes strategies to capture follow-on and new business opportunities within the Commercial Aircraft and Engine structures market.Develops and participates in the annual long-range strategic planning process (LRSP)Execute multiple programs successfully by managing safety, quality, schedule, delivery, and cost (P&L responsibility) for fixed price contracts.Directs proposal preparation to ensure proposals are competitive, create customer value, aligns with the company’s business and growth strategy, is compliant to company standards, and provides a proper base for successful negotiations and program performance.As a merchant supplier, the business lane director must understand the need for protecting customer information and helps develop business strategies including the use of nondisclosure agreements and firewalls accordingly.Manage contract negotiations, endorse final price and contract terms and resolve contract issues.Drive technical excellence by setting program standards, enabling cross-functional support and reach across multiple NG sectors and divisions, effectively managing risk and opportunities, and delivering performanceOversee the development of program plans and critical milestones.Meet master program plans and schedules by identifying and assessing risks, and initiating necessary corrective actionsServes as a company representative to customers, ensuring there is an understanding of core capabilities and provides customers with creative business and technical solutions for their requirements.Service the customer by executing the program and resolving issues in accordance withbusiness objectives, strategy, legal requirements, regulations, contract terms, and company policies.Provide overall leadership and direction to the program team that include coaching team members, resolving conflict, reviewing performance, and initiating process improvement and corrective actions when necessary.Set role and performance expectations, and provide ongoing feedback and performanceappraisals, and develop future program leaders.Provide direction to internal functional teams and ensures strategic teaming and positioning with key suppliers and subcontractors.Oversee program planning and execution through applicable phases including concept, exploration, engineering development, advanced development, production, sustainment, and retirement to continuously drive results.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 10 years (or Bachelor of Science in STEM and 9 years) of related experience as defined below, OR a Master’s degree and 8 years (or Master of Science in STEM and 7 years) of related experience as defined belowRelated experience includes professional and/or military experience to include a background in project management, program management, engineering, capture efforts, and/or business management related functions3 years in program or project leadership rolesA thorough knowledge of program management for development, production and sustainment programs.Experience managing major programs or portfolio of programs more than $100M sales annuallyExperience with Firm Fixed Price contractsAn understanding of business and strategy development and comfortable working in a highly competitive marketplaceExperience working with Commercial Prime customers and their partnersKnowledge of business systems, Risk and Opportunity Management, and contract managementDemonstrated experience leading managers and teams engaged in executing multiple contracts and customersDemonstrated ability to provide verbal and written information clearly, succinctly, and persuasivelyExperience working with prime contractor and commercial executivesMaster’s degree in business, science, engineering, or other relevant business experience (Leadership, Finance, etc.)

Salary Range: $187,700.00 - $281,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
