What you’ll do: You’ll supervise the CTI manager, program support coordinator, quality assurance coordinator, technology curriculum supervisor, transition manager, treatment assistant, and assistant program director. Perform routine consultative services and technical assistance work. Work involves planning, developing, and implementing DWI/SAFPF/ISF substance abuse treatment/education programs, providing technical assistance to program staff and training others in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) directives.

Essential Functions:

Participates in program planning, development, training, and implementation of DWI/SAFPF/ISF substance abuse treatment/education programs; monitors compliance with policies and procedures; and assists in providing consultative services to plan, implement, and monitor effective agency programs. Assists in conducting special investigations, program analyses, and research studies; reviews and analyzes treatment operations and problems and prepares reports of findings and recommendations; and recommends activities to produce a more effective program. Assists in the preparation of program budget requests; develops policy and procedure manuals; and assists in the preparation of training and operational manuals, educational materials, and information programs. Works with program staff in determining trends and resolving technical programs; provides technical assistance on program services; and provides liaison with other departments, divisions, agencies, and organizations. Works directly with Inmate population. Provide staff training; evaluate staff performance and implement organizational and personnel changes as approved by the program supervisor III and the warden. It is expected the incumbent will work extended hours as directed. Promotes the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed; provide regular feedback to staff regarding social skills procedures and intervention techniques. Maintain accountability of staff, Inmates and property; adhere to safety practices.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or United States Department of Education (USDE).  Three (3) years full-time, wage earning Program administrator or counseling experience. Each year of experience in excess of the required three (3) years may be substituted for thirty (30) semester hours from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis.  Valid licensure as Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHSP), current valid certification as Certified Criminal Justice Professional (CCJP) by the Texas Certification Board of Addiction Professionals, Certified Program Instructor or current valid licensure as Qualified Credentialed Counselor (QCC) licensed to conduct counseling in a treatment environment preferred.  Must maintain valid licensure or certification for continued employment in a position.  A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Post Hire Requirements:
Must complete Correctional Awareness Training (CAT) prior to inmate contact. Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements and pass an annual background check, both of which must be approved by Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
