PROGRAM DIRECTOR

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The Program Director provides leadership and support to the Residential Treatment Facility. Provides oversight of the budget and other administrative tasks and ensures the quality of services delivered.

 

REPORTS TO:  Divisional Director

 

SUPERVISES: Assistant Director, Director of Residential Services, Director of Social Services, Residential Director, Director of Nursing, Recreation Coordinator, Office Manager and other support services staff as assigned.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide direct oversight of a 40-Bed Residential Treatment Facility (RTF) in Briarwood Queens serving youth who are I/DD with significant mental health diagnosis Develop and implement evidence based therapeutic models of care Develop and implement trauma informed practices in the RTF Assure regulatory compliance with relevant City/State mandates Assure financial integrity of the program Develop and maintain a coherent organizational environment Promote and assure superior treatment services Lobby and collaborate to assure adequate and professional clinical services Create and maintain program milieus that are safe, caring, and therapeutic Develop systems, modalities, protocols, and interventions that assure healthy child development, good daily routine, effective limit setting and a broad range of activity and enrichment opportunities Assure professional group living services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week Provide oversight for staff scheduling and daily programming Serve on Agency Administrative Council Oversee the recruitment and selection of all new program staff Responsible for the direct supervision of clinical, medical, casework and residential staff

 

RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS Internally: Interfaces with casework staff, program management staff, quality improvement staff and other administrative support departments. Externally: Interfaces with New York State Office of Mental Health as needed; interfaces with youth, family, and community members (including OMH staff, law guardians and their representatives, other invited guests) during meetings.

III.   QUALIFICATIONS:

Master of Social Work, or Ph.D in Psychology Licensed Clinical Social Worker or other relevant license Experience working in residential care Experience working with Youth with I/DD Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience Minimum of 3 years in residential program leadership

WORKING CONDITIONS

Driver’s license preferred. Must be available to provide 24/7 crisis intervention and administrative assistance
