JOB DESCRIPTION

The Short-Term Crisis Programs provide a community-based alternative to inpatient psychiatric care for adults in crisis. The Program Director will provide supervision, coordination and management of the program, including direct client care and staff supervision. The Program Director will oversee fiscal management of the program, and will ensure compliance with all DHCS and Community Care Licensing regulations. Additionally, they will provide on-call support to program staff when needed and must live within a 45-minute radius of the Programs (Monterey and/or Salinas).

COMPENSATION

$87,235 - $141,440 annually. Exempt; Not eligible for overtime. Compensation based on education and experience.

REPORTS TO

Division Director of Program Services.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required: Master’s degree in a related field with one of the following licenses: LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or license eligible or Clinical Psychologist or RN. Over four years of experience in mental health and substance use treatment field, including two years in a supervisory capacity. Proven ability to lead teams, manage treatment programs, and enhance client care through effective leadership and strategic planning.; live within 45 minutes of the program site.

 

Excellent English oral and written communication skills, strong clinical skills, and ability to manage a culturally diverse team. Ability to manage program budget.

 

Active Drivers license for at least two years and driving record acceptable to insurance carrier.  Valid California driver's license; auto in safe operating condition; auto liability insurance; own vehicle in good operating condition or ability to provide own transportation necessary to travel to meetings and appointments in the community; good driving record; criminal record clearance; proof of authorization to work in the United States as required by Immigration and Reform Act of 1986. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

 

Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish. Knowledge of community resources and public speaking experience desirable.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide on-call services and support to program staff when needed and live within a 45-minute radius of the Program (Monterey and/or Salinas). Responsible for recruitment, hiring, supervision, scheduling, training, and development of program staff. Oversee staff duties and lead regular meetings to ensure effective collaboration. Program planning and evaluation, including development of program procedures, materials, forms. Implementation of a work plan to ensure achievement of program objectives, including establishing, monitoring, and revision, as needed of program processes and procedures. Liaison and coordination with County Behavioral Health system and other social services, private and commercial health insurance providers, mental health agencies and other Interim programs. Maintain accurate records using both computerized and manual methods, including program statistics, client records (such as Medi-Cal documentation), medical records, financial records, and outcome measures. Provide direct services to clients, including intake, treatment planning, and crisis management, while coordinating all new client intakes to ensure that all required documentation is collected prior to the intake process. Close coordination with Community Care Licensing and the Department of Health Care Services to ensure compliance with all licensing regulations.Ensure that the program adheres to all standards and requirements set forth by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). This includes preparing for and participating in CARF accreditation reviews, addressing any areas of improvement identified, and ensuring that all program practices align with CARF’s standards. Management and monitoring of program budget. Supervision of maintenance of facility. Participation in agency Steering Committee Implementation of effective public relations activities as assigned including but not limited to networking, attending meetings, providing program presentations. Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to drive an automobile and small passenger van; climb stairs; possess good communication skills; meet the requirements of the classification and have mobility, vision, hearing and dexterity levels appropriate to the duties to be performed. Capable of the following extended activities: walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs. Capable of the following intermittent activities: lifting 25 pounds or more, bending, stooping/kneeling in the performance of infrequently performed office duties.
