**STRATEGIC** **BUSINESS UNIT DESCRIPTION**
CIBC US Region is focused on deepening client relationships by delivering a full range of financial products and services to clients in the US Region. The group provides business strategy and integrated financial services to clients. Being in line with CIBC’s core purpose: to help make our client’s ambitions a reality, the CIBC US offer focuses on integrated relationship management, where Investment Management Trust, Fiduciary, Asset Management, and Wealth Strategies teams work together to deliver customized financial solutions. In addition, CIBC US also offer Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate Financing and Community Banking solutions to clients.
**JOB PURPOSE**
Experienced Program Director, Strategic Initiatives who will be a leader on the Strategic Initiatives handling multi-year program management. Strategic initiatives are not business-as-usual operations; they are major strategic programs that create impactful outcomes. The Program Director, Strategic Initiatives will be a proactive leader and will work closely with business stakeholders and have ownership and accountability for the successful implementation of various initiatives. This leader will work to ensure solutions are fit for business needs by serving as a trusted partner to key businesses. This position will be a Managing Director of CIBC Bank USA.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
+ The position will provide consulting expertise and program management for specific strategic initiatives that are deemed critical to the business success.
+ Participate in the development of programs, tools or services by assessing the impact, effectiveness and feasibility of proposed changes
+ Work with business partners to identify performance measurement needs and development of potential solutions to address emerging needs
+ Provide a focused effort on ensuring delivery of solutions are managed in a client-centric environment
+ Provide leadership and expertise, particularly with regard to the identification of key issues, creation of novel business solutions and project plans.
+ Facilitate senior leadership engagement in Steering Committees and program governance
+ Determine skills needed, roles needed and organization of project teams
+ Facilitate the escalation and resolution of issues
+ Establish methodologies and assign responsibility for tracking priorities, issues, risks, and tasks of projects within portfolio
+ Prepare budgets, bids, contracts, and funding requests
+ Manage and monitor contracts related to project portfolio
+ Foster a culture of risk management within active programs
+ Lead and ensure effective change management practices. Ability to break down barriers and build consensus among project team members.
+ Use critical reasoning while working on projects and ensure projects stay within budget and aredelivered on time

+ Be the liaison between business units, technology teams, and support teams.

+ Speaking up if witnessing behaviors that drive poor or unfair outcomes for clients, team members or other stakeholders
+ Escalating matters that can result in adverse market practices and outcomes, thereby negatively impacting CIBC’s reputation as a leading financial institution
**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS**
+ Effective leadership capabilities with strong people management and development skills
+ Ability to influence key stakeholders through well-articulated strategies and benefit driven value statements
+ Curious, creative thinker with a collaborative approach to problem-solving
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills - both written and oral. Ability to communicate complicated matters in a simple, structured way to senior management
+ Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across functions and borders
+ Adapts well to fast-paced and changing environment.
+ Promotes teamwork and creates focus around what is important, is approachable and viewed as a partner
+ Minimum of 10 years prior Program and Project Management experience, in support of the financial services industry
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office
+ College Degree required

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $175K - $225K for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
