About this role:

Our Technology Strategy and Operations team is seeking a Program Director who can consistently support technology strategy and operations to fuel IT projects and programs that enable Gartner. This role will guide and govern foundational technology principles and establish processes; lead analysis and provide insight and recommendations to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Work with Technology leadership to understand business information priorities in order to design and develop business information processes, systems and analytics that enable IT Teams to achieve strategic objectives

Partner with analytics teams within and outside of IT to drive business insights and determine end-to-end trends and insights on IT performance. Support consistency and alignment of technology metrics with broader enterprise wide metrics and reporting.

Applies data visualization techniques to communicate data via graphical representation by building a narrative around a set of data to convey actionable findings from the analysis.

Partner with technology leadership to deliver key capabilities through reporting and analytics, dashboards, self-serve analytics tools and the successful execution of complex projects while driving continuous improvement in the business capabilities across IT and Gartner as a whole.

Participate in overall business unit strategy, priority programs and metrics and goals for IT function

Develop and synthesize high quality insights in monthly and quarterly ops reviews including

Synthesis of risk management and ongoing risks

Improvement actions sized and prioritized (to-do, doing, done)

Oversee publication of monthly management reports and updates

Drive consistency of execution across all IT teams. Identify areas/opportunities for collaboration within and across functions/business units. Brokers consensus among stakeholders with conflicting priorities.

Support execution of Global Technology priorities – e.g. Financial Reporting, Benchmark surveys, agile transformation, etc.,

Enable IT Leadership to seamlessly adopt a process culture, standards, governance, and methodologies including  planning

Work across the IT organization to facilitate use of business information systems and business intelligence tools to enhance associate effectiveness and business decision-making capability.

Interact with a diverse team of top performing professionals and leaders through the strategic and day to day execution of the core operational functions within IT.

Impact of Role & Expected Results:

Ensure that IT is using necessary tools, systems, processes, and information to execute on its strategic objectives

Partner to provide innovative business solutions and optimizes the performance of IT performance and business processes

Recognized as a subject matter expert in Technology business systems and the be a conduit between Technology Strategy and Operations and IT organization overall

Requirements:

10+ years progressive technology experience, preferably in a strategy, operations or business consulting role, including 5+ years being responsible for strategic operations, executive reporting and the development and deployment of global teams. Knowledge of IT business systems and engineering SDLC cycles strongly preferred.

MBA strongly preferred with an undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline such as engineering or mathematics.

Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver compelling executive-level presentations. Excellent verbal & written communication skills with demonstrated ability to convey complex concepts and analyses in an accessible and compelling way.

Strong knowledge of tech operations practices with a proven ability to establish trusted business relationships across business units, gain consensus and drive action from a large, diverse global set of constituents.

Results-oriented with excellent business vision and strategic thinking and a proven track record of solving complex problems, thinking creatively and successfully drawing the larger business story out of facts and data.

Preferably a high degree of technical competency, including the ability to program using a query language interface such as SQL or Access; expert Excel skills; expert report-writing skills; and advanced PowerPoint skills

Open to new perspectives and better ways to do things; be creative, visionary, and manage innovation well

Strong understanding of business intelligence as a discipline. Developing understanding of Big Data Analytics with ability to translate strategic objectives into business intelligence/associated functional requirements

Demonstrated ability to lead projects and teams in a fast-paced environment and to inspire rapid adoption of change in a complex matrixed organization with distributed virtual teams.

Scrum/Agile certification, PMP certification preferred

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 134,000 USD - 184,500 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
