Program Director - Vocational Nursing

Company Description

The Program Director of the Vocational Nursing program leads all program planning, development, and delivery while promoting the College's values. They ensure excellence in teaching, student service, strategic planning, resource development, personnel management, budgeting, and program evaluation. The Program Director oversees all program management aspects, including teaching loads aligned with the student population and program goals.

Job Description

Promote Excellence in Teaching

Coordinate accreditation, program review, or assessment activities required for compliance with institutional accreditation standards and academic program accreditor (as applicable) standards.Conduct periodic evaluation of academic program outcomes and write program evaluation plans (PEP)Conduct periodic instructor observation(s) in an objective, unbiased, nonthreatening manner pertaining to quality and scope of instructional delivery.Participate in course/program orientation; facilitate new student orientation. Maintain a schedule of student representative meetings; document meeting minutes; monitor action plans through completionCoordinate the academic honors program for allied health students.

Lead through strategic planning

Plans, develops, manages, updates, and evaluates all aspects of the programPrepares data and other written materials for all required state and Nursing Board requirements, reports, proposals, self-studies, surveys, and site visitsRequired to meet program related BVNPT regulations, including section 2527(b): a school shall report to the Board within ten (10) days of the termination of a faculty memberAssists with identifying and obtaining outside resources for the nursing programDevelops and implements program policies and procedures.Organizes and serves on committeesOversees admission process and orientationEffectively serves as liaison between the community and the collegeDevelops and maintains educational partnerships with clinical sitesPerforms a clinical site evaluation that includes a thorough assessment on the ability of the agency to provide clinical experience that meets the objectives for application of theory and clinical course objectives. The assessment includes an analysis of risk, hazards, and safety of all students, as well as ensuring adequate staffing to handle clinical objectivesMaintains current knowledge of State rules and regulations as relate to the practice of Vocational Nursing

Create change and direction by Management of staff and Personnel

Maintains evaluations by students, clinical sites representatives, and faculty at completion of each clinical rotation and provides summary report to the Chief Executive Officer /Administrative Director of Nursing Programs and shares same with Advisory committeeEnsures clinical contracts are updated and maintainedParticipates in nursing faculty recruitment, hiring and orientationFacilitates nursing faculty meetings on a regular basis and ensures adequate records and minutes of the meetings are maintainedAssigns and schedules faculty to course and clinical sitesMonitors quality of instruction and participates in faculty and program review, evaluation, and strategic planningProvides advising, support, and planning assistance to potential studentsProvides input and ensure that students are properly oriented to nursing skills lab and clinical facilities prior to initiating clinical rotationsParticipates in the planning and review process for the recruitment and admission of qualified nursing studentsAssures that all students have completed the necessary documentation and met the requirements for graduation and licensing examParticipates in the planning and implementation of the Nursing Advisory Committee meetingsParticipates in professional development; maintains CE hours

QualificationsHold a current and active license as a Registered Nurse in the state of which you will be workingHold a baccalaureate degree from an approved schoolHave a minimum of three years of experience as a registered nurse; one year shall be in teaching or clinical supervision, or a combination thereof, in a state approved registered nursing or vocational or practical nursing, or psychiatric technician school within the last five years; or a minimum of three years of experience in nursing administration or nursing education within the last five years.Have completed a course or courses offered by an approved school with instruction in administration, teaching, and curriculum development

Compensation range is $130k -$140k total package dependent on qualifications
