Job Summary

The Program Director is accountable for the execution of the contracts in line with all business case and contractual requirements. Accountable for the smooth execution of all program issues and tasks in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders.

Also responsible for the relationship and communication with external key stakeholders including partner, authorities and government representatives as well as being the “voice of the customer” and will be the focal point towards internal and external stakeholders.

The Program Director is leading the program leadership team and is also a member of the Management Team for the Governmental business in Trollhättan and will work closely with the Business VP to meet the financial targets.

Job Responsibilities

•    Interface with the Customer for all aspects of the program.
•    Accountable for the execution of the program, including changes, in compliance with the business case and contract, throughout the complete life cycle.
•    Responsible for creating and securing new business in line with strategy plan
•    Responsible for the proposal process of follow on work including changes.
•    Effectively handles claims / changes together with Commercial.
•    Delivers program financial results in accordance with agreed KPIs and targets.
•    Partners the VP in defining the vision, strategy, objectives and budget for the program.
•    Responsible for execution of the strategy towards the vision
•    Adheres to all Program management and Commercial standards and policies in accordance with the GKN Aerospace Program Management framework and contribute to process development.
•    Actively manages risk and opportunities to mitigate risk exposure and realize opportunities.
•    Acts as the point of escalation for Program Managers to resolve customer issues.
•    Responsible for Creating a Great Place to Work and for championing the GKN Aerospace 5 culture principles.
•    Significant external communication and relation with politicians, authorities and customer representatives
 

Job Qualifications

Formal Qualifications
BSc degree in engineering, science or business; second or advanced degree in business preferred. 
 
Skills and Knowledge – Essential
•    Significant experience in commercial, finance, engineering or programme management disciplines.
•    Must possess a comprehensive knowledge in all functional disciplines and be proficient in the fundamentals of Program Management, finance and LEAN principles.
•    Demonstrated interpersonal, negotiation, organizational and communication skills.
•    Ability to lead, coach and mentor highly skilled and experienced direct reports.
•    Strong knowledge of government contracting process and proprietary contracts development.
•    Broad understanding of the Aerospace industry.
•    Ability to communicate with Swedish authorities in native language.
 
Desirable:
•    Knowledge of the Swedish/EU political and authority way of working.
•    Knowledge of government contracting process.
•    Experience from Aerospace market and programs.
 

Travel requirements

Travel to customers and authorities mainly.

The position requires that you undergo and be approved according to the current regulations for security protection. For positions where GKN's customer has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, involve specific citizenship requirements.
