Program Finance Manager (Lead)

The Program Finance Manager supports the program finance function by managing a team of analysts responsible for financial planning, analytics, and cost accounting associated with various projects. This role maintains a system of accounting records, delivers financial information and analysis to management, and works collaboratively with program management and other internal stakeholders including the executive team. Also maintains relationships with external funding sources.

Schedule: Hybrid (One Office Day (M/W) - 4 Days Remote)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversees the day-to-day activities of the Program Financial Management department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial information including, but not limited to, analysis, projections, budgets, and billing documents and funder audits and annual budgets.

Lead the monthly contract invoicing and forecasting processes for assigned programs.

Review and consolidate monthly budget projections for assigned programs, and present summary analysis.

Develop and maintain complex spreadsheets used as templates for financial planning (e.g., budgeting, invoicing, analytics, forecasting, etc.)

Drive process improvement initiatives focused on automation, and lead implementation.

Collaborate with programs operations function to identify and mitigate risk exposure.

Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned to assist with new business proposals and contact audits.


QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years’ experience in non-profit accounting, or related field.

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.

Advanced Excel skills, including experience with lookup functions, pivot tables, and macros.

Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with ability to establish rapport at all levels of the organization.

Strong technical skills, with ability to create value collaboratively and as an individual contributor.

Very organized, with ability to manage various subsequent projects in a fast-paced environment.

Experience using Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, or similar Accounting Information Systems.

Fundamental knowledge of GAAP and the main elements and drivers of the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows.
