Job Summary

Under general direction of Program Coordinator teaches community health promotion programs with focus on the National Diabetes Prevention Program. Programs are held at a variety of community locations in the Corewell Health service area of Taylor and Trenton. Performs a wide range of complex functions including following technical protocols or program curricula, using presentation and counseling skills, adapting education messages to a wide variety of audiences, entering program data, handling equipment/supplies and record keeping.

Essential FunctionsDemonstrates knowledge of program curriculum.Implements health promotion programs following proper procedures as outlined in training materials.Ensure accurate results/information given to participantEnsure participant safety and employee safetyMaintain accurate record keeping and safeguard equipment, supplies, data and monies.Completes mandatory trainings and self-education modules required by Program Coordinator(s).Works cooperatively with Program Coordinator(s), office staff, community organizations and as a team member with other instructors.Attends work on schedule and follows proper procedures when canceling a work assignment.Develops and maintains a culture of service excellence with internal and external customers, physicians, and volunteers in accordance with the Corewell Health values of Compassion, Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence.

Qualifications

Required

Required High School Diploma

Preferred

2 years of relevant experience teaching in health field and/or education field.
