The Operations and Strategy Team of the Stanford Graduate School of Business seeks a Program Manager, Engagement and Outreach. The Program Manager will support key initiatives for the Dean’s Advisory Council, Special Committees, and other high-level volunteer groups. This role works closely with the leadership of GSB External Relations, the GSB Dean’s Office, the university’s Office of Development (OOD) and Stanford Alumni Association, and volunteer leaders of the GSB’s most significant boards, committees, and councils. The Program Manager will work collaboratively within a team environment to coordinate logistics, enhance engagement strategies, and ensure the smooth execution of activities that connect alumni and other stakeholders with the GSB’s mission. This role involves supporting high-visibility projects, analyzing data to drive strategic decisions, and helping to shape the volunteer experience through thoughtful planning and execution.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the GSB’s Engagement and Outreach objectives as part of a collaborative and dynamic team. You’ll support high-level GSB alumni leaders, boards, councils, and committees that play a vital role in advancing the school’s mission. Working under general supervision, you’ll help execute key initiatives, analyze data to inform strategic decisions, and enhance the volunteer experience, all while collaborating with stakeholders across the GSB.

As a valued team member, you’ll have the opportunity to design and develop a world-class communications platform for our boards and councils, shaping how we engage with key stakeholders at the GSB. You’ll play an integral role in planning and delivering impactful meetings and events, crafting thoughtful communications, and driving seamless execution of engagement strategies. Your primary responsibilities* include: Support Alumni and Volunteer Engagement: Help coordinate activities for high-level alumni groups, such as the Dean’s Advisory Council and Special Committees, ensuring their successful involvement in GSB initiatives. Engage with Leadership: Collaborate directly with the Dean’s Office, faculty, and senior administrators to align volunteer and alumni initiatives with GSB priorities, ensuring seamless communication and impactful engagement. Analyze and Share Insights: Use data from meetings and events to identify trends, inform strategies, and create reports that drive decision-making and improve volunteer engagement. Enhance Volunteer Programs: Manage and improve the process for recruiting, onboarding, and supporting volunteers to create a positive and meaningful experience. Coordinate Events and Communication: Help plan and execute events, prepare materials, and develop communications that engage and inform alumni and other stakeholders. Collaborate Across Teams: Work with colleagues to streamline processes, share best practices, and ensure smooth operations for boards, councils, and other volunteer groups. Serve as a Resource: Act as a key contact for volunteers and their support staff, providing training, resources, and assistance to ensure their success. Promote Operational Excellence: Lead efforts to improve systems, tools, and processes that strengthen the GSB’s engagement and outreach programs.

 

To be successful in this position, you will bring: A bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks effectively. A proactive approach, with demonstrated initiative and ownership of projects. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with sound judgment in decision-making. The ability to work independently while contributing as part of a team. Relevant subject matter knowledge and the capacity to supervise and direct the work of others when needed. Flexibility to occasionally work evenings and weekends and to thrive in a hybrid work environment.

 

In addition, preferred requirements include: Familiarity with platforms like Zoom, Google suite, Airtable, Salesforce, Excel, and a willingness to explore and adopt new technologies. Experience engaging with volunteers, particularly supporting boards or councils, and the ability to connect with volunteers across multiple time zones. A demonstrated ability to work closely with executives, high-level stakeholders, or C-suite leaders, anticipating their needs and interests while delivering a world-class experience that delights and inspires. Skill in designing and creating polished, executive-level communications using tools such as Word, Google Slides, PowerPoint, and Adobe. Proficiency with data management, including structuring databases and using data visualization tools. An inclination to bring creativity, enthusiasm, and a sense of fun to your work, inspiring those around you!

 

The expected pay range for this position is $99,015 to $126,383 per year.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
