Department Overview

The Electric Safety and Compliance Strategy department provides safety and compliance oversight for Electric Transmission, Substation, Distribution, System Inspections and Undergrounding.  The Safety Program Management Office (PMO) partners with the Enterprise Health and Safety (EH&S) team to provide strategic guidance to improve our safety culture and performance.

 

Position Summary

Manages implementation and operations of the Electric Operations (EO) PG&E Safety Excellence Management System (PSEMS) and safety-related Problem-Solving programs. Ensures the programs are operating effectively and delivers on a variety of safety initiatives. Supports Program Management to ensure attainment of program metrics and objectives by:

 

Coordinating/supporting EO representation with the PSEMS Communities of Practice. Coordinating/supporting EO safety-related problem solving. Monitoring and KPIs, trends, and TIP action items to execute appropriate problem solving, working with SMEs and stakeholders to ensure alignment and effectiveness. Managing relationships with EO Leadership. Developing and monitoring budgets and forecasts. Developing, measuring, and reporting on success of the safety program. Partnering with the Communications organization, vendors, and external partners to develop and implement strategies to reach appropriate EO audiences at the appropriate times. Identifying and maintaining strong working relationships with all strategic programs and partners. Partnering with Regulatory and Compliance teams to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and support regulatory activities by supplying information for filings, data requests, and meeting with regulators. Identifying stakeholders and communicate within and outside of PG&E. Developing and/or implementing policies and procedures.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
 

A reasonable salary range is:​

 

Annual Minimum:  $140,000.00

Annual Maximum: $238,000.00         

 

Job Responsibilities

Recognized subject matter expert providing guidance and counsel to EO leadership on subject of expertise Coaches and mentors less experienced employees. Solves unique and complex problems, anticipating issues and developing innovative solutions. Demonstrates strategic leadership with internal stakeholders to support EO and company goals. Leads development of program goals and metrics to meet EO and company goals and objectives. Collaborates across the organization to ensure alignment of goals to support the program. Responsible for utilizing other departments and teams to meet program goals. Organizes and leads project teams to influence safety program direction and decisions. Develops or provides significant input to PG&E leadership.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

Bachelor degree or equivalent experience. Ten (10) years of related experience or equivalent. Travel may be required.

Desired:

Masters Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification. Ability to use understanding of the business to help drive strategic decision making, and to recommend operational improvements. Ability to lead the largest most complex projects across the EO LOB. Deep knowledge and expertise of business and or industry drivers. Ability to lead large and complex projects working with cross-functional teams. Ability to create compelling business cases based on complex business environments and inputs. Adept at addressing issues with diplomacy and tact.
