Department Overview

The team of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration and emergency response. This position is a member of the System Inspection Quality Control team within the Veg Management System Inspections quality group. This new position will report to the SI QC Manager and will be the technical lead and key subject matter expert for the program. 

 

Position Summary

Manages aspects of program implementation and operations.  Ensures program is operating effectively.  Responsibilities typically include some or most of the following in support of Program Management to ensure attainment of program metrics/objectives.

Managing relationship with and providing direction to vendor(s) Developing, measuring and reporting on success of the program    Partnering with internal stakeholders, vendors and external partners to develop and implement strategies in a timely manner to support program goals. Identifying and maintaining strong working relationships with all strategic programs and partners Partnering with Regulatory and Compliance staff to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and support regulatory activities by supplying information for filings, data requests, and meeting with regulators. Assist in authoring and supporting WMP initiatives. Identifying stakeholders and communicate within and outside of PG&E      Developing and/or implementing policies and procedures  Identifying new partners, technologies, and delivery channels   

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

 

Bay Minimum: $140,000
Bay Maximum: $238,000

CA Minimum: $133,000
CA Maximum: $226,000

 

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 
 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Recognized subject matter expert who represents PG&E in regulatory and/or industry forums on subject of expertise. Presents quality findings and makes recommendations to management. Will lead the internal quality feedback process. Works with all levels of management and senior leadership across functions to influence decisions. Works closely with internal stakeholders to define and improve processes to reduce ignition risk in the system. May manage major cross-functional projects and initiatives   Coaches and mentors less experienced employees Solves unique and complex problems, anticipating issues and developing innovative solutions Demonstrates strategic leadership with internal stakeholders to support Company goals. Leads development of program goals and metrics to meet company goals and objectives.  Collaborates across organization to ensure alignment of goals to support program.   Articulate goals and mission to key stakeholder teams to assure development of a deliverables that meets stakeholder needs Perform benchmarking for alternative approaches and insights Identify improvement needs and implement changes based on external and internal stakeholder input, measurement and evaluation, and gap analysis Responsible for utilizing other departments and teams to meet program goals.   Organize and lead cross-utility project teams to influence utility, regulatory and/or industry decisions. Leads large programs or efforts on behalf of PG&E to resolve issues and conflicts or to educate other parties.  Develops or provides significant input to PG&E leadership, other utilities with similar programs, industry and/or regulatory decision makers to influence market place and regulatory strategies impacting PG&E and its customers. 

 

 

 

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience Job-related experience, 10 years

Masters Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification Electric Utility Experience – GO 165 Field Compliance Inspections, Maintenance & Construction, Quality Control, Quality Verification, CIRT, Asset Strategy, Standards, Work Methods and Procedures Strong knowledge of electric utility business operations  Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements for inspection compliance – GO 165/95/128, EDPM Leadership and coaching skills Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to develop and deliver presentations to various internal and external audiences. Influence and negotiation ability, including strong meeting facilitation skills, to effectively prioritize work based on business need and risk assessments. Problem solving and decision-making ability. Adaptability to adjust to changing business dynamics and priorities and ability to work across multiple teams from different disciplines and backgrounds. Excellent customer service skills Knowledge of process improvement concepts, methods and best practices. Program and/or project management experience  Strong analytical skills Experience managing budgets
