The Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering (TAME) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization affiliated with the University of Texas at Austin’s School of Engineering. TAME is dedicated to inspiring and supporting middle and high school students in exploring and pursuing engineering careers, aiming to provide opportunities for all students to engage with the field. Guided by values of inspiration, impact, empathy, and leadership, TAME offers statewide, no-cost programming in collaboration with community leaders. Together, we deliver meaningful programs, organize engaging competitions, and drive lasting change in communities across Texas.  Together, we deliver impactful programs, host engaging competitions, and foster lasting change in Texas communities.

TAME Clubs and TAME Engineering Competitions are school year-long engineering education programs, powered by dedicated volunteers. Each fall, students across Texas join TAME Clubs to engage in out-of-school engineering activities. These same students are then invited to participate in the TAME Engineering Competitions hosted regionally throughout Texas. This year, TAME is focused on integrating these programs– streamlining the student curricular experience as well as communications for volunteer TAME Club and Region Leaders. TAME Scholarships, awarded in the spring and summer, support graduating TAME students pursuing engineering and other STEM degrees.
