The Amazon Tax department is a fast-paced, team-focused, dynamic environment. Amazon Global Tax Services (GTS) is seeking a Program Manager with experience in Portfolio management to join our expanding team.
The Tax Program Management Office (PMO) drives global, complex Tax projects that have a high degree of involvement across many teams at Amazon as well as across Tax, or when Tax leadership believes this team can help on a specific business problem. In addition, through our GTS Portfolio team, we lead Amazon Tax through efficient prioritization, cross team coordination, and resource planning with internal GTS teams and its Tax delivery partners to deliver an agreed upon annual operational plan.
The Program manager will provide oversight and management of the end to end Tax intake process. In addition, the candidate will execute and distribute the quarterly roadmap, deliver training, and contribute to portfolio operations. Partnering with key stakeholders is critical to operate within a fast-paced and complex environment. The role is required to have a detailed understanding of their key processes and prepares process documentation.
Key job responsibilities
- Provides oversight and management of the PMO intake process
- Collaborates with requestors to ensure initiative information is complete and of high quality
- Monitors and manages overall intake performance including volume, aging, bottlenecks/obstacles, and trends to drive visibility and transparency within the process to all users and utilizes data to drive improvements and enhancements
- Ensures Intake data quality so that the Portfolio can distribute and communicate prioritized roadmap with adequate request descriptions to delivery team(s)
- Develops weekly Intake summary reports and meet with key stakeholders
- Delivers meaningful, consolidated, and timely monthly FLASHs to stakeholders for Intake status
- Executes Quarterly Roadmap process for assigned teams (FAQs, SOPs, templates), create training materials/ publish Wiki and other training toolkits
- Delivers Training to key Tax team members
- Prepares process documentation (FAQs, SOPs, templates), create training materials/ publish Wiki and other training toolkits
- Coordinate with other Portfolio and Program managers in the prioritization and portfolio planning, reviews, and end to end portfolio cycle
- Drives roadmaps and workback plans for defined projects
- Develop, execute, and drive continuous improvement of Tax PMO's prioritization and portfolio processes
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Formal Portfolio and Project Management education

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
