Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is currently seeking a DMSMS Program Manager Level 1 to support our growing business in our Northridge location. This position is a full-time onsite role.

The primary objective will be to manage DMSMS on multiple programs, delivery of all contractual requirements on cost and on schedule, while achieving all technical requirements and creating customer intimacy to support value creation strategies and actions.  The individual will lead a cross-functional organization aligned to common program performance goals.

Program Managers are responsible for leading all phases of the program life cycle from inception (proposal development) through startup, execution, and completion (contract closeout).  Primary responsibilities are the management of cost, schedule, and technical performance of company programs or subsystems and include, but are not limited to:  

Leading and directing cross-functional Integrated Program Teams (IPT) to meet program cost, schedule and technical performance objectivesMeasuring and reporting program performanceDelivering presentations to customers, executive management and other program stakeholdersPreparing Business case analysis to evaluate various courses of action as it relates to DMSMS mitigationsProposal Management – Preparing and delivering proposals for DMSMS related mitigation effortsParticipating in the negotiation of contracts, contract changes, specifications, operating budgets, schedule milestones, and key terms and conditionsCreation, review and finalization of the program Statement of WorkIdentification, distribution, tracking, and completion of program requirementsManaging Government/customer supplied property or informationManaging suppliers to meet program objectivesAdherence to all internal processes, policies, and applicable industry standardsEnsuring program team understands and adheres to contract scope, and manages change through control board activitiesDevelopment and adherence to master plans and schedulesConducting thorough risk & opportunity management practices including identification, mitigation and realizationCultivating customer relationships to develop further opportunities within the customer communityDeveloping new business opportunities through long term strategic planning, capture planning, and development of proposals and business plans

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 6 years (or Bachelor of Science in STEM and 5 years) of related experience as defined below, OR a Master’s degree and 4 years (or Master of Science in STEM and 3 years) of related experience as defined below.Experience as a project lead, integrated program team leader, cost account manager, or demonstrated success leading teams/and or organizations to achieve a common goalBasic competency in Project Management skills and toolsetsFamiliarity with SD-22, DMSMS Guidebook for Best PracticeFamiliarity with electronic component management databases (Silicon Expert, IHS, etc)Working knowledge of technical protocols to assist with resolution activities (alternate drawings, Integrated Project Team Lead briefings, etc)Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)Must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance. (US Citizenship is a requirement)

Preferred Qualifications:

A degree in a science, engineering, or a business programExperience in the aerospace/defense industry or within the Department of Defense or NASA PMP® certificationExperience with Lean, Six Sigma, Agile methodologiesActive Security Clearance

Salary Range: $126,600.00 - $189,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
