Our Raleigh office works on exciting environmental planning projects including wetlands delineations, species assessments, wetlands mitigation, and cultural resources. Our team prepares technical documents including proposals, reports and regulatory agency correspondence.The successful candidate will be an experienced professional and will possess the desire to help lead growth of our environmental planning practice for the Terracon team.

Essential Role and Responsibilities:Program/Project ManagementRegionally Develop a natural resources mitigation/stream restoration program by leveraging existing resources across Terracon and building capability in the SE DivisionManage moderate-to-complex environmental planning projects and lead teams through project deliveryHelp lead Southeast Division efforts in wetland mitigation and stream restoration projectsHelp lead multi-disciplinary teams executing large environmental planning projectsParticipates with more senior environmental staff on large, more complex projectsEvaluates complex laboratory and field data and assembles in written reportsMay serve as team member or lead in meetings and communications with client pertaining to specific projects/tasksMay oversee work performed by lower-level environmental scientists and techniciansMentor and develop mid- and entry-level natural resources and NEPA specialists regionallyBecoming an Approved Project Reviewer (APR) within 6-9 months of start dateFacilitating training, coaching, and employee development targeted at natural resources within the regionConducting occasional fieldwork with mid- and entry-level biologists on moderate-to-complex projects to serve as a mentorFurther development of Terracon’s regional team by cultivating a one-team approach connecting practitioners across multiple offices within the region to deliver success togetherCareer-level, fully competent environmental planning professional responsible for leading and mentoring project management and project delivery Business Development and ProposalsLead efforts to capture workResponsible for developing written proposals to clients for both small and large projectsResponsible for enhancing existing client relationships and expanding Terracon’s presence in the Raleigh marketplace and throughout the Southeast divisionDevelop environmental planning business regionally through client engagement activities including presentations and business networking with emphasis on key regional clients; including the department of transportationWork with existing client development, national account, and sector teams within Terracon to increase the book of business for environmental planning services in the regionSafety and QualityFollow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projectsParticipate in pre-task planningReport any safety issues or concerns to managementBe responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projectsRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related science field and a minimum of 15 years’ related consulting experienceValid driver’s license with acceptable violation history
