The Manager of Communications amp External Relations will be responsible for developing implementing and coordinating communications marketing and alumni and donor relations operations for the Fischell Department of Bioengineering in the A James Clark School of Engineering in an effort to strengthen and advance the departments identity and reputation among general academic industry and government audiences The Manager will work directly with faculty staff and students in coordinating the promotion of research departmental and student successes and will advertise the departments suite of academic programs particularly graduate degrees and the new BS in Biocomputational Engineering This position will work closely with the Chair of the Fischell Department of Bioengineering along with the A James Clark School of Engineerings Media Relations and Development offices in managing and expanding bioengineerings external and donor relations portfolio and initiativesThe Fischell Department of Bioengineering consists of 23 tenured track faculty and offers BS MEng MS PhD MSMD and MDPhD degrees as well as a new BS in Biocomputational Engineering exclusively at the Universities at Shady Grove in Rockville Maryland Faculty research expenditures were in excess of 19M in fiscal year 2023The A James Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland serves as the catalyst for high quality research innovation and learning preparing our students to create innovations that will address the 21st century Grand Challenges eg energy environment security and human health and improve the human condition The Clark School is dedicated to leading and transforming the engineering discipline and profession to accelerating entrepreneurship and to transforming research and learning activities into new innovations that benefit millions
