Program Manager
DescriptionJob Summary:The Program Manager will oversee and coordinate multiple consulting projects within the manufacturing sector. This role involves managing project teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality consulting services, and fostering strong client relationships. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams. The Program Manager works closely with project managers, team members, and senior leadership to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader who can effectively operate both within a team environment and independently, acting as the CEO and champion of assigned projects and customers.Key Responsibilities:Project Management:Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of consulting projects from inception to completionDevelop project plans, timelines, and budgets; monitor progress and adjust as necessaryEnsure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budgetIdentify opportunities for process improvements within client operations and develop actionable recommendationsImplement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance manufacturing efficiencyExpose Client to additional DSI functions (Simulation, Scanning, IE, Controls, etc.) that would support project goals while increasing service opportunitiesReport project progress to DSI LeadershipClient Relationship Management:Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their needs and ensuring their satisfactionConduct regular meetings with clients to provide updates and gather feedbackAddress and resolve any issues or concerns that arise during the project lifecycleManage client expectations against as-sold SOWEngage proactively and strategically with clients to build lasting relationships aimed at fostering future opportunitiesTeam Leadership:Manage and mentor project teams, providing guidance and support to achieve project goalsCoordinate the efforts of team members and ensure effective communication among all stakeholdersFoster a collaborative and productive team environmentQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent business experienceMinimum of 5 years of experience in program or project management, preferably in a manufacturing or consulting environmentStrong understanding of manufacturing processes, Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologiesProven track record of successfully managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teamsExcellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to read and understand technical drawings and plant layoutsProficiency in project management software and tools (MS Project or equivalent)Ability to adapt to the company's specific ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systemTravel within North America should be expected (10% - 20%)Desired, but not required: PMP or similar project management certification and supply chain certification(s): CSCP or CPIM or CLTDDesired Skills:Ability to work and excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentSkilled in communicating effectively with all levels of the customer organization (from the shop floor to c-suite executive leadership)Strong analytical and strategic thinking skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing prioritiesExperience in managing budgets and financial reportingStrong inherent drive to achieve goals and deliverablesA background and/or knowledge in material handling, warehousing, distribution, e-commerce, and training centers will be advantageous for the position
