Program Manager
Job Title: Program Manager - Aerospace & DefenseJob Description An aerospace company is seeking a talented Program Manager to lead programs related to Military Airborne Communication Mission Payload System Development, System I&T, Platform Installation, Ground and Flight Tests, Air-Worthiness Certifications, with eventual transition into production. Program Managers are the primary customer liaison and are responsible for leading engineering teams, members of support organizations, and suppliers to successfully accomplish projects within cost and schedule to the satisfaction of the customer. Responsibilities also include support for teams in the field, tracking project financials, and building/nurturing client relationships with the US Department of Defense and US aerospace/defense companies. Program Managers must know the fundamentals of project and resource planning such as work breakdown structure, resourced scheduling including critical path determination, risk identification and mitigation, and are responsible to understand the basics of defense contracting and contracting with suppliers and sub-contractors. Program Managers have significant responsibility and are held accountable for program success. Time management skills are extremely important to effectively carry out the demands of this profession. They must be team-oriented, effective in communication and cooperation. Program Managers are expected to know industry norms and safe practices to effectively carry out their duties.
