Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Program Manager to lead the development and execution of the Strategic Plan for an assigned Defense business segment. This role requires detailed market assessments with near and long-term priorities across Naval, Air Force, and Army segments. The Program Manager will develop and execute go-to-market plans, manage customer-centric opportunities, and lead pursuit and capture activities within the defense market.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute the Strategic Plan for assigned Defense business segments, including detailed market assessments.Create go-to-market plans for each assigned defense market segment.Participate in industry events, symposiums, and trade shows as assigned.Individually manage customer-centric opportunities with the support of operational leadership.Lead pursuit and capture activities, ensuring timely responses and progression through the gated proposal cycle.Understand the competitive environment, source selection process, criteria, requirements, and political landscape of each account.Communicate negotiation and proposal outcomes to internal groups, emphasizing clear details, critical timeframes, and expectations.Ensure an enduring and sustainable support strategy for long-term customer relationships.Manage and execute Policy Deployment action plans and countermeasures as assigned.Lead business development activities from customer engagement to financial capacity forecasting.Conduct market research and develop proposals that align with the company's long-term strategic vision for the defense market segment.Identify and respond to RFPs from defense primes for new and continuing program opportunities.Essential SkillsExtensive experience in program management, business development, and technical sales within the defense industry.Strong expereince in engineering, aerospace, and defense industry operations.Proficiency in proposal writing and understanding of FAR/DFARS regulations.Ability to manage the program life cycle effectively.Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Business Administration, or a related field.10+ years of industry experience in business development, program management, and technical sales in the defense industries.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Proficient in MS Office and CRM software.Additional Skills & QualificationsCritical thinker and problem solver.Great communication and presentation skills.Experience in leading sales initiatives and projects.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.Work Environment

The preferred location for this role is Mahwah, NJ, but remote work is possible if based in a desired location such as Huntsville, Alabama, or Washington DC. Travel is required up to 50%. The organization operates on a 9/80 schedule. The team is a tight-knit group with 47 total employees, and the company culture is supportive and collaborative. Shared services such as Accounting, Payroll, and HR are managed in Mahwah.
