Program Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a Program Manager to lead and manage projects within our Software Team. This role involves training and developing junior engineers, as well as working on full-lifecycle software development in C/C++. The ideal candidate will solve technical problems independently and, when necessary, seek advice from Principal Engineers. You will manage small to medium-sized projects and move seamlessly between first principles analysis and complex software solutions. Additionally, you will develop design data ranging from system descriptions and technical reports to customer presentations.

ResponsibilitiesLead and manage projects within the Software Team.Train and develop junior engineers.Execute full-lifecycle software development in C/C++.Solve straightforward technical problems independently.Solve complex technical problems with guidance from Principal Engineers.Manage small to medium-sized projects.Move freely between first principles analysis and complex software solutions.Maintain intuition for technical problem-solving and recognize when to change approach for better results.Develop design data including system descriptions, technical reports, and customer presentations.Essential Skills8+ years of embedded software development experience.Proficiency in C/C++ and embedded software.Experience with embedded Linux and software development.Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related technical field such as robotics or physics.Experience leading, training, or managing software teams.Experience in the development and implementation of closed-loop control systems.Practical implementation experience in machine learning.Development of simulation-based test and evaluation software.Additional Desired Skills & QualificationsExperience in program or project management.Customer interface and team supervision skills.Technical curiosity and the desire to work on a wide range of projects.Willingness to work in a rapid prototyping and testing environment.About Actalent
