Overview Goldbelt Professional Services specializes in providing expert resources for Public Health missions including scientific, technical, and administrative support from junior staff to high-level subject matter experts. Summary: We seek a Program Manager (PM) to work with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, GA. The successful candidate will be placed as a GPS contractor at a CDC facility. CDC is the nation’s premier health promotion, prevention, and preparedness agency. The Program Manager will report to GPS senior leadership and be responsible for the day-to-day management of various projects and tasks, overseeing the execution of timely, high-quality deliverables for the client. Candidates must have the ability to report to the office physically at least 2-3 times a week based on Customer needs. Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: Serves as the primary client interface on CDC programs requiring daily interactions with client representatives. Fosters and maintains peer-to-peer relations with subject matter experts, partners, and other stakeholders in meeting project-based deliverables. Leads significant matters such as program development, program budgeting, and auditing/evaluating program impact and performance. Supports developing and managing work breakdown structures and earned value management metrics. Provides guidance and expertise to clients on the execution of programmatic requirements. Early identification and resolution of issues related to project deliverables. Operates under an emergency response's intense deadline pressures and inherent changeability. Assist with strategy development for best approaches to managing projects with a health equity focus. Provides input and support to management for hiring decisions and human resource matters. Contributes to resource mobilization efforts for the assigned programs in consultation and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Prepares, finalizes, and submits narrative and financial reports or updates to key program leads in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Supports projects that enhance public health/public safety collaborations by identifying appropriate local partners, collecting qualitative and quantitative data, and disseminating project findings. Keep abreast of and develop specialized knowledge of project-related datasets. Serves as the contact person in the absence of team members. Provide input and support to program-related contracts and agreements. Formulates and monitors program-related goals, objectives, operating policies, strategic plans, guidelines, governance, and standards, and prioritizes to ensure consistency with departmental standard operating procedures. Qualifications Necessary Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrated ability to work well independently, be solution-oriented, motivated, and committed to customer and company success. Ability to handle a variety of constituencies, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a complex environment while balancing multiple, competing priorities. Excellent judgement and decision making with strong analytic skills; business intuition and business acumen. Track record of providing efficient, effective operational/program management execution Excellent judgment and decision-making; capable of working independently with ability to multitask successfully. Knowledgeable of techniques to anticipate and resolve program inefficiencies. Must adjust to priorities, schedules, and budget changes to ensure program outcomes. A strong sense of urgency and ability to manage deadlines. Highly organized with great attention to detail Ability to work with colleagues, clients, and other staff members at all levels of the organization. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Comfortable leading multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative team environment Highly proficient in using Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint) Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience with 10 plus years' experience. Outstanding communication skills are required. The position requires the ability to demonstrate diplomacy and work professionally and collegially with a highly educated, scientific customer base that is under pressure and in the public eye every day. Prior experience working with the CDC is highly desired to understand the culture and environment. Professional experience in public health and in a program management role or, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility and leadership. Philanthropic, nonprofit or government, and/or public health leadership preferred. Experience working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and engaging in strategic partnerships, demonstrating and prioritizing customer service and leadership. Experience in program evaluation, including logic model development. Ability to obtain and maintain CDC clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working with CDC beneficial.
