The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are adding a Program Manager to our growing Technical Services Midwest division in Madison, WI. 

McKinstry has a unique perspective on the life of a building, and our  Technical Services  suite of owner-direct offerings assists clients in making the best decisions to improve the efficiency, comfort, sustainability, and lifespan of their building. 

The Midwest Technical Services team provides technical and strategic consulting services to make every building we touch more efficient. Our highly diverse group touches buildings of all kinds, from schools to hospitals to downtown high rises, with the intent to drive efficiency and optimization in every aspect of operations.

In this role, you will manage and grow a highly technical, client facing delivery team within our Midwest technical services group. This is an opportunity to bring your creativity, innovation, and drive for organizational impact as we align individuals within this team to deliver high impact consulting, and drive evolution of our energy management services under your leadership.

Team and Project Management 
You will be responsible for supporting the alignment of our offering and delivery teams as they evolve. Collaboration will be key between local and enterprise-wide stakeholders to set and deliver this vision. Your planning skills will support tactical development of resource plans for your team, equipment requirements, set milestones and support delivery of projects with excellence. Also, you will play an integral role in project budgeting, scoping, and savings strategies to maximize client impact while reducing risk. Lastly, you will ensure effective project delivery by your team. Your team will be the technical delivery experts optimizing the build environment for our Active Energy Management, MBCx, performance audits and analysis offerings.

Program Management
In this role, you will serve as the lead for our building energy consulting offerings. This includes supporting definition and training, identifying training and communication to potential clients and sales team members, and championing adoption of new tools, processes, and standards for delivery team members. There is opportunity to develop local and national relationships and collaborate through internal McKinstry leadership.

People Management 
You will be leading a team of individual contributors and managers, and are responsible for resource planning, career support, reviews, and project support as needed. Prior people management is required for this role. We will look to you to collaborate with individuals on your team and partner with other team managers developing project staffing plans, drive utilization targets, and support recruiting and team growth.

 

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

Engineering, Sustainability, Architecture, Environmental Science or Energy degree or equivalent work in the built-environment experience   

Prior people management experience is required 

Able to analyze project financials 

Assist with client interactions 

Review and improve process and procedures  

Prior people management experience is highly desired 

Understanding of building efficiency

Understanding of basic design principles and standards 

Understanding of data analytics in the built environment 

Ability to analyze utility data  

Knowledge of building HVAC mechanical systems, BAS systems, and energy analysis 

PE license is preferred. BCxA CCP, ACG CxA, ASHRAE BCxP certification is preferred. CEM is preferred

The pay range for this position is $84,060 - $136,980 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
